The staff is very helpful, the hotel atmosphere is nice and comfortable, the breakfast is delicious, the rooms are also ok and the service is good.

The hotel staff helped me call a taxi. When I stepped into the taxi, I saw 3-4 laundry bags with the hotel’s name printed on it. The driver explained that he was on the way to send the bags to the laundromat. I was already in the cab, so I said okay when the driver asked whether I minded with the laundry bags. Then I found out that the taxi didn’t use a meter, and I was charged quite a lot for such a short trip. Apart from this issue, everything else about this hotel is good.

Meal ordered did not look like/thus not as attractive as it appeared in the menu. Its taste was only mediocre. So, it did not value for money sadly to say. Hotel located in a heavy traffic area esp during peak business times.

The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The location is perfect, in the city center, close to tourist attractions, restaurants, malls, and hospitals.

I've been using this hotel since its inception, and it's now known as Trader Hotel, and now Jen Hotel, no less than 30 times in Penang. Every time I've stayed here, the quality I get is comparable to the price I pay. I've never been disappointed. Most impressive: The variety of breakfasts. Second impressive: The comfort of the rooms. Third impressive: The extremely convenient transportation. No matter where you're in Georgetown, look for Komtar and you're sure to find your hotel. The only complaint is that the bed is a bit too soft. Those who prefer hard beds won't like it, but that's all I can say. Jen is my favorite, and I always recommend it to others.

was completely surprised upon check out the hotel deducted my cash deposit for the amount of MYR 39. No info given upon check in nor any info in Traveloka that non Malaysians have to pay tax + fee/night which I find it strange why there's tax on top of tax. Moreover not all hotels practice same policy.

The bath soap and shampoo don't smell good, need to be cleaned, and the bathroom smells like a sewer when it's dry, needs to be improved. The drainage system. The location and building are still very good... and the AC is quite cold... good.

(+) Room was very nice, location also very nice. (-) However there was extremely long queue for checkin and checkout.

Overall ok, just don't vacuum the floor every day
