This is an amazing hotel. I can't stress how great it is. If you are in this area you should stay here. The building is beautiful, the staff is great, the bar is awesome, it's clean, and the grounds are great. Seriously, stay here if you can.

This beautiful castle has been so well taken care of, the entire property is just beautiful. Helpful staff, clean and beautiful room, nothing to say negative at all!!

Gorgeous castle high in the hills of a quaint Abruzzi town. Up graded as much as possible with the exception of air conditioning. Rooms are very spacious with large windows revealing beautiful views of the country side. Front desk people were very helpful and their English was pretty good. Bar and restaurant area are a treat. Chef’s menu was definitely different with delicious items from beginning to end. Francesco, our server and bartender was a pro and made our dinner experience a 10! I highly recommend Chiola and look forward to returning one day.

The hotel is beautiful, decoration a bit strange (a mix of classic italian with modern scandinavian furniture) - but the castle itself is amazing, fantastic views. The town is incredible. We booked this for a special occasion and sadly when we arrived we were told that a wedding reception was taking place in the hotel, and that the pool area/outdoor area and the restaurant were all not available to us!

Costello Chiola is off the beaten track but worth a visit. The hotel is a renovated castle and some aspects are extremely well done. With some minor changes to furniture in the public areas this could look 100% better. The room was large and comfortable and typical Of a 4 star room. The restaurant was a standout of our trip, definitely stay in and eat here. The surrounding village is charming and the drive through countryside to get here is beautiful. A lovely stop in our journey, but would attract more customers if the stunning enclosed central courtyard was furnished with more style.

It was very beautiful, but not much to do around it.

A very charming hotel perched on a hill overlooking the town. The staff was wonderful. The scenery was beautiful. My wife and I spent most of our time relaxing by the pool during the day and on the terrace in the evening overlooking the beautiful lights of the town and the stars in the sky. Very tranquil and peaceful location. Highly recommend the hotel.

Bed springs popping thru, water bottle from last patron under the bed, breakfast was horrible.

Stayed for two nights, Saturday and Sunday, second time we have stayed and second time we loved our stay. Beautiful building and lovely rooms with amazing views. The restaurant seems to be quiet but exceptional service and food. A couple of minor downsides. The hotel is very popular for weddings (I can see why!) but this means that it can be quite noisy some nights. Not much seating or sun loungers near the pool so if there is a forementioned wedding party there is a very slim chance of a spot around the pool. Parking might be tight aswell!

Huge rooms; an enormously spacious hotel. The lighting at night from a distance and up close is amazing. A hotel with huge feel good factor. Let Mateus choose your wine for you at dinner!

High on the hill top, excellent site, this converted Castle offers so much. Staff are to be commended. Wifi unavailable in the rooms only in the ground floor communal areas. I can't comment on the restaurant ,as inexplicably, without prior notice, it was closed on the Sunday evening that we stayed.

My husband and I visited this area at a friend's recommendation and were delighted to discover the Abruzzo region. This hotel is found in a small town in the historic centre and provides a wonderful view over the area. The standard bedroom was huge , comfortable, light with a very adequate bathroom. Public lounge area was impressive with a charming obliging drinks waiter at the bar. Reception staff went out of their way to help us and even volunteered to act as interpreter for us at a meeting with the relative of our friend for over an hour .Great base for exploring the area. Internet access in public area only was a bit frustrating and breakfast was good but not great however for the price we considered it great value. Make sure you visit restaurants in the surrounding area esp Michelin star restaurants as excellent value in this part of the world as well as the Agritourism restaurants. Drive up to the hotel entrance may seem a bit daunting but parking pretty easy when we were there.

Absolutely the best in the area

The hotel is a jewel. The location can be challenging the first time but then it is a breeze and worth the effort. The staff are very accommodating and helpful, the food in the restaurant was great and the breakfast capuccini were wonderful. The room was spacious (huge actually) and very comfortable. The only downside for those who need to be connected at all times is that they only have wifi in the lounge next to the lobby and it is not available in the rooms. To say the view of the local countryside is picturesque is a major understatement.

A gorgeous hotel away from busy every day life. Rooms are extremely spacious and palatial. Service impeccable with friendly staff. Very quiet and the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the surrounding country side. Would definitely return
