I was really looking forward to celebrating my birthday at the Pullman Legian Bali, a 5-star hotel that unfortunately fell short of my expectations. The check-in process was underwhelming, with no warm welcome or special touches to mark the occasion. I was asked to wait in the lounge for my room key, but after 30 minutes, no one showed up. When I followed up with the receptionist, I was told my room wasn't ready.
I struck up a conversation with a foreign guest who checked in the day before, and she mentioned getting her room key promptly. This made me wonder if the hotel treats locals and foreigners differently.
When I requested a late checkout due to my late check-in, the receptionist initially said it wasn't possible due to full bookings. However, after checking with the manager, they agreed to extend my checkout time.
My overall experience was disappointing, and I wouldn't recommend this hotel to others. The service felt inconsistent, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that I was treated differently because I was a local guest using a paylater app for payment.
notes : at that time I feel like I'm just being grumpy woman and even apologize to the staff and write a notes, but my friends say that I have to write it down so it won't happened to other guest.
