Great for diving and great a/c

Lovely dive resort with 2 beautiful pools. Very safe for this senior, single female, traveler.

Captain Don’s is the best. We will be returning every summer.

Stayed for a few days. On a beautiful bay. No beach but you could access the water to snorkel or swim from the dive shop dock. Room was adequate for a few days. It definitely is time for painting and upgrades. Shower leaked around glass. The foot had a 2” gap in one corner that allowed mosquitoes in. Easy access to pool and dining room. Dining was excellent. Great staff of waiters. Our air conditioner broke down the last night of our stay flooding the floor. The front desk gave us pool towels to lay on the floor. We were concerned about mixing water with the electrical as it appeared to drip through a light in the bathroom too.

Good for scuba divers but for people who want to have swim, sun bath etc not so good

Quiet area with excellent staff for diving opportunities. Rum Runners had excellent staff drinks and food 😎

As a scuba diver CDH is a fantastic destination with a lovely property, folks that are actively doing things to help the reefs and wonderful staff. You will always feel welcome at Captain Dons!

Service at check-in was excellent.

Restaurant had poor selection of food. Food was not good overcrowded with locals unable to sit down and have dinner. Food was only average and overpriced.

Scuba Diving is the best here!

Great experience at captain dons. One issue with service in the restaurant. Didn’t have anyone come over to us for quite some time. Things happen. Not meant for a bad review. Just to point out so it can be addressed. Other than that, it was great.

This was our third stay at Captain Don's, we loved it as much as the first time, in 1998. We were upgraded to the deluxe oceanfront suite, great view, large room. 2 pools at the resort. Staff helped us with car rental options after the place we reserved with had no cars. We enjoy being in the quieter area away from town. Having a car is needed if you want to explore the island (which you definitely should) but, if you don't have a car, there's a supermarket and some restaurants walkable to the resort. Onsite dining and bar at the resort as well. Bar bites and pizza on site in addition to the full restaurant. The reef to the right was good for snorkeling, plus 2 resident tarpon had out under the restaurant.

Great setting on the water for easy access for diving and snorkeling.

The hotel was clean and in such a great area. Could snorkel right off the property and walk to some great restaurants, although they have a great one onsite too. Nice gift shop on site along with bar and restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. No beach but we were there to snorkel. I wish I would have done more research as there are some other great snorkel sites I wish I could have gone to.
