Cliff Notes: Not recommended for families. Excellent service by the staff, but the facilities are poor. Long Story: We were a family of 4 and booked the family suite for a part of the stay. This review is for the suite. We were picked up in a small Skoda Sedan from Casablanca, despite informing the host about our luggage. The 2.5 hour ride to Marrakesh was uncomfortable with cabin bags and backpacks in our laps. The host said this was par for the course, and so I would warn you from accepting transport service from them! Riad Pros: Friendly and accommodating staff. Breakfast is good, although becomes repetitive after a couple of days. Location is good as well, as it is close to some of the Souks. Riad Cons: TERRIBLE Uncomfortable beds (A Queen is two twins joined) - So, you will be sleeping over an uncomfortable crease line, where the beds join. I still am suffering from a shoulder pain that was caused by this crease line. The suite is two levelled with very narrow and very steep stairway! Every time you go up and down the stairs IN the suite, you need to be extra careful due to the narrowness and steepness of the stairs. The bed for the kids is meant for a 5ft 5in only. Anyone taller will have their legs hanging over the bed. The toiletries offered are low-quality among other issues with the Riad. Overall: I would not stay here again. Look for alternatives if you can!

Despite the family room being different from the one we selected, our stay was very good. The staff were excellent and very professional. The breakfast was diverse. The area close to most attractions yet not busy.

We loved our stay at Riad Star. The staff were incredible and very attentive to our needs. They arranged our daily taxis, helped us with our bags from and to the airport and advised us on the local sites to see. We travelled as a family of four. Two children aged 6 and 3 - the staff were so friendly and made breakfasts to the children’s preference each morning. Khalid and Najim went above and beyond with their service and they alone deserve 5 stars for themselves. I would highly recommend booking the taxi service the hotel offers and get picked up from their team. Riad Star, like many Riads - is tucked away in a quiet area and cars can’t access the hotel entrance. There is a few minutes walk required to get to the Riad - don’t be a hero and find your own way, save yourself the hassle and have the hotel driver collect you and the staff will meet you at their designated meeting point. Lovely place, lovely people and already missing it all.

A beautiful surprise as it is in the historical section of Marrakech. Close to the Medina. Luxurious interior. Multi storey with wonderful rooftop views. Wonderful service from start to end of our stay. Hospitable in every way. A great find!

Our small group of 3 female friends booked a 3 night stay here based on the photos and other online reviews. However we felt misled, as it was an untidy and dirty Riad, with dirty floors throughout and piled up stuff behind curtained areas. We were not shown around on arrival so made our own way upstairs to have a look at the roof terrace. Open bedroom doors en route, showed towels and bedding all over the floors. The roof terrace had a very long old string of celebration balloons that had clearly been there for weeks (mostly shrivelled up), which showed just how little things were cared for. The entrance reception area was 2 large tables covered in a plastic tablecloths. Our bedroom door (Ivory room) room key was a tiny 2cm padlock and 1cm key. My friend booked a ‘junior suite’ and got the Paris room which looked like a dark cell, was warm and without a fridge. There was no bottled water available in the rooms. The towels on our bed looked like they were not clean and had not been washed (just sprayed with something), the threadbare rugs looked dirty. Whilst there, we heard that another guest was ill in bed with some kind of with some kind of food bug whilst we were there. She had been stuck there bed bound for 2 days. We decided to find alternative accomodation instead, and so left and checked out the same day without unpacking. It feels sad to leave this review, as we were so excited about our Moroccan trip and this first impression changed everything.

The hotel was hidden in residential area with no name! Beautiful place and the staff make it worth. They are super friendly and helpful. They really go above and beyond to make our stay a great experience. I highly recommend because of staff and very close to shopping area and some tourists places. Don’t let the area intimidate you it’s very safe and great location.

The Riad staff were really friendly and helpful. The room itself was cosy, with a comfortable bed and warm spacious shower. The dinner was not to our taste however the breakfast was delicious with soft tender eggs and pancakes served with great peanut butter and honey on the side. Location is excellent. This Riad is highly recommended if you are trying to experience Morocco the proper Moroccan way!

Unbelievable!! Cannot say enough about this hotel. The owner and staff were exceptional. They went out of their way to make a stay for my family feel welcome and safe. They set up tours, dinners, and experiences that made our stay in Marrakesh over-the-top. The rooms were gorgeous, the roof deck beautiful and its unique charm and tribute to Josephine Baker is romantic and beautifully done. The owner took the time to greet and welcome is. He personally made sure that we had a great stay. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. We are so happy that we stayed here. It truly made our visit! A million thank yous to the staff and owners.

Very convincing pictures on the travel sites but barely a 3-star hotel/ riad. People are nice but it’s not well organized and not at all a „boutique style“ riad . Price / value off.

This Riad is in the middle of the medina. It's a walk of 7-10 minutes from the taxi stand to the Riad. The personal is excellent, real customer driven. They are delighted to help you with everything. There are 14 rooms. Our room had only windows overlooking the covered courtyard. It took some time getting used to it. Within 100 metres there are some wonderful restaurants. The medina is very busy, clean and well lit. The Riad organizes cooking workshops. Perfect.
