About Hoi An

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hoi An is a tapestry of both indigenous and foreign cultural influences, an idea perfectly embodied by Hoi An Ancient Town. The architectural philosophy and the gastronomical culture of the town are a cultivation of Vietnamese, Chinese, and Japanese customs and ways of life, thanks to its status as a major trading port from the 15th to the 19th century. Beside offering an insightful window into Vietnam's culture and history, it has plenty of surprises in the way of an eclectic food scene. Cao lau noodles, chicken rice, sizzling pancakes, fried wontons, white rose cakes, the list goes on.
