Oaks Perth Hotel

The refrigerator was rattling and tapping when the motor cycled. A cleaner was using a noisy back pack vacuum cleaner at 7.45am on Saturday morning - power tools, blowers etc aren't permitted on building sites before 8am on Saturdays let alone in hallways of hotels.

Staff very pleasant and really loved the fact that the train, buses and shops were easy to get to

We loved our stay - every staff interaction was excellent and the location in my opinion was unbeatable. We will definitely use this hotel again when we visit Perth. Included breakfast was delicious and staff amazing

Bed was very hard as were the pillows. Onsite restaurant was a disaster. Pork belly I think came off a wild boar.

Great location, 20 seconds walk to the CBD and main train station. The room is clean and tidy, and got a view. The air con is loud and direction not adjustable. The bed got a small dirty spot. The sofa is saggy and adjustable shower tap can be better. Given the great location and other small negative points, I would give the hotel a 4 star rating.

The hotel is very much centrally located. Few minutes walk to central bus station as well as train station. The best of shopping area in the city CBD. Close to points of interests.

Really great location. 100m from the train station and very central. Aircon is a bit loud so might bother some people. The water pressure in the shower was the worst i have ever experienced. If you love showers i don’t recommend staying here because it was so bad we struggled washing our hair, and we were literally touching the wall standing under the water. Other than that it is a great hotel.

Apart from a dirty black hairs around the shower head, it was ok

Honestly, to say this was advertised as a Deluxe 2 Bed Apartment it definitely wasn't and looked and felt very tired. The carpets were thread-bare and the upholstered headboard on the double bed had marker pen marks where the upholstery buttons would be positioned; We were 3 adults, a married couple and their adult son requiring his own space. On arrival the couch bed in the living space was opened and set as a double bed and through to the second open space was a double bed (he said very uncomfortable) and a single bed in our space, which was placed in front of the wardrobe and hanging space so this had to be moved to access clothes etc (Not sure why this was there anyway - it wasn't requested), so now there was sleeping set up for 5 persons. Although well equipped generally there was insufficient toilet paper for 3 people for 3 nights (2 and one of the toilet roll holders was already broken / left on the side - we had opted for no housekeeping so wouldn't receive any additional daily items thus we had to go to reception to request toilet paper; not ideal). Both the hand/body wash bottles at the sink and shower areas had run out. There was a coffee machine available, but we were unable to make it work and there were no instructions for it. Reception staff were fine and friendly. The room instructions suggested emptying our rubbish down a waste chute (which we could not find and there were no instructions as to where this was - housekeeping staff said leave it outside !!).

The location is excellent being in the heart of the city. The staff were particularly helpful and friendly. The rooms need updating, particularly the air-conditioning which is noisy . Having said that we enjoyed our stay there . The rooms were spacious but on some levels not well thought out. For example in the room we had we couldnt get the suitcase between the bed and the corner of the wall to get to the wardrobe. We had to lift them over the corner of the bed.

The apartment itself was in good order, clean and as per photos. Sadly what let the place down during this short stay was the two members of staff I sadly encountered at reception at the time (Chimi and Vivienne). I’d booked this hotel on short notice due to the cyclone delaying my travel plans to the east coast and as a solo female traveller was naturally feeling anxious and a little overwhelmed with everything going on. I’d had no instructions on how to get to the laundry room, so when my keycard didn’t work in the lift I thought I had to use the stairs? Without knowing that the doors to the stairs actually lock, and I ended up getting locked into the sweltering hot stairwell of this hotel. When I finally found the exit to reception and went to the front desk, Chimi and Vivienne literally laughed at me? Whilst seeing me visibly distressed, also making passive aggressive comments about the fact that I shouldn’t have used the stairs - when at check in they had failed to tell me I needed to get my card validated for the laundry room? It really just made the place feel childish and unwelcoming, I felt awkward even going past reception after that awful encounter. Do not recommend especially for solo female travellers unless you want a reminder of what school bullies behave like!

Excellent place to stay In convenient location. Large, clean well appointed suite. Very quiet.

Excellent location and great sized room

Room service was an extra $5 for them to deliver the food in a cardboard box and a bag. I ordered a $50 scotch fillet steak mash and veg. The steak was so thin over cooked and the mash was packet DEB and the veg was the cheap frozen veg. Parking was ridiculous.

Aicon was not standard and very noisy, if you turn it off then it gets to hot
