Mercure Milton Keynes Hotel

The was hairs in the bathroom sink, the mattress was very uncomfortable. Didn't get a decent night sleep, not a 4* more like 3* hotel. But overall it was ok for 1 night stay.

Another good stay at this well run clean hotel. Look forward to my next stay.

Pros: Friendly staff, decent breakfast and a nice quiet area with clean rooms. Also was glad to use the gym even if it was tiny. HOWEVER. . . . . (1) - mucked up my breakfast order so had to keep negotiating that I had breakfast each morning. (2) - had to put up with an annoying DRUUURRR DRUURRR repeating noise that was easily audible from my room constantly and especially at night. So despite being in a quiet area, you have a constant noise of some kind of air con fan or generator or similar keeping you awake so you can't sleep. Well that completely neuters the point of it being in a quiet area. Now I don't know if that is a problem throughout the hotel, but I would imagine the floor I was on would be susceptible. (3) - The shower has a handle that is stiff as hell, can barely be turned and its handle is basically a square protruding barely from the handle with two sharp edges. How the hell would an old person operate it, I'm fit and in my 40's and I could barely turn it at all. And golfers would reside here which are going to be mostly old people. So for the price which is at a premium, it's no different really from a Premier Inn, except that the breakfast is a bit better, you get a gym and more noise.

I stayed in a privilege room for 2 nights and everything was so lovely. The room overlooked the golf course and was very peaceful. It was decorated and furnished to a very high standard, the bed was super comfortable, and the room was equipped with everything we needed and more. The whole hotel was superb, the food in the restaurant was excellent also. I can't recommend enough and I will definitely return.

The staff are pleasant and the room clean, but the facilities need renewing. I got into the shower in the morning and found the temperature dial just spun around. Loose knob. Reported this to reception, but had to have very cold shower as needed to get to appointment and could not wait around for repair. Also no indication on bath/shower controls which knob position did what. Just a polished chrome plate. Needed some form of sticker to say what each position did. Thought Reception might have offered something on checkout but no.

Reception and bar staff very helpful. Excellent condition. Might not be the best location for central Milton Keynes but was ideally placed for our purposes.

Stay quiet and provided the rest required

I stay here regularly and it is always my first choice when visiting Milton Keynes. I always receive a warm welcome from the reception staff, nothing is too much trouble. I use have a privelege room and they are very comfortable.

It was lovely one

Bright and airy room, quite location. Would stay there again if we were to return to the area. Only negatives were slow bar service and breakfast counter not stocked with all available options
