We had a lovely relaxing break. The hotel was proper olde worldy, lots of period features and interesting layout. Being a very old property, some parts could benefit from a refresh. However, the place was clean, warm and cozy. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and plentiful. Especially good was the Sri Lankan set meal.

It is an incredible stay. Blockley is an amazing walking town. The Crown is clean and affordable. The best part is the staff! Amazing and extremely professional. Breakfast was amazing! Great place for dinner and a pub. The stories the local tell are a lot of fun! And Father Browns church to boot!

Hotel and our room were clean albeit a bit tired and could do with a bit of TLC. We have a dog and this hotel is very dog friendly, ate an excellent meal in the bar in the evening and a nice breakfast in the dining room. Staff were excellent throughout, only downfall was the road up to the car park through an archway and then a very bendy narrow road upwards and the car park itself which could be challenging for some.

Good hotel in pleasant village. Staff friendly. Car park has just enough off street spaces but access from street through main arch is difficult for larger cars do to age of the building.

Nice little hotel in the quiet village without trouists. People are very mince as well as the staff. A lots of birds are singing in the morning like camping site. The building is old so walk softly. If living in the top floor, it shouldn't be a problem.

Was greeted warmly by staff, and after going through registration was escorted to my room, which was ancillary to the main hotel building, which was a disappointment from the get-go. The room was in what reminded me of a converted outhouse. Everything you expect from a hotel was there, a bed, en-suite shower room, coffee making facilities, towels and complimentary toiletries. The room boasted a largish flat TV. What was missing in my view was a chair and a bedside light. There was a stool for the vanity mirror, but sitting having a coffee in the room would have to be done on the bed. This was a large single occupancy with a double bed and very little room to move around it. Compact would suitably describe it. However for the money in the area it was good value. Wifi is offered, didn't have a device to try it. The room rate included breakfast, continental or Full English. The Full English was served to order, and I noticed that their was a significant difference in the breakfast regarding time of arrival, i.e. the sooner after service started , the hotter the food served. The breakfast items were OK, nothing special. Like all hotel restaurants they could do better, a mixture of under and over cooked items on the same plate. The coffee served was not to my taste. They have recently re-introduced real ale to their drinks menu, the dining menu didn't appeal but mirrored the online version except for price. Would I stay there again? Probably, but would opt for a room only tariff.

Could not fault the hospitality from the staff. Very helpful, and polite. The room had character and was quirky, hence the squeaky floor. Good breakfast, but my egg was so overcooked that I couldn’t see the yolk! Overall, just needs a bit of TLC

This hotel is excellent value for money especially considering the beautiful area it is in. It’s a bit tired in places and the rooms could do with some updating….but the price reflects this. However, it was spotlessly clean. The breakfast offered was good quality and plentiful. Evening menu was excellent and superbly cooked. Staff were brilliant….courteous, friendly and efficient. Would definitely stay here again.

Blockley is a picturesqe corner of the Norther Cotswolds and there is something so charning about staying above a pub. The Crown Hotel was warm and inviting, with simple but comfortable rooms which were perfect for an overnight stay.

Amazing historical building in the Cotswolds (dating back to 16th century). Staff is kind and helpful. Was greeted warmly and shown to our rooms. The bar is quaint and welcoming. Restaurant is fine. Windows are an incredible example of time period. Hotel needs work. Paint is peeling, rooms need to be painted (chipped paint, nails left on walls from previous hangings, pictures hung in strange places (partly behind bed?). Collection of spider webs in various parts of the hotel (one pic included) All this, but we would stay again due to location & to see improvements. The views are amazing!
