Gorgeous character inn with comfortable bedroom and plenty of peace and quiet.

I like its history and the Staff are excellent.
I disliked:
a) Wasting so much milk. I only needed a small spoonful.
b) Morning shower.......the water was tepid at the most despite the fact that I reported it and was assured it would be better next day.
c) Noisy, especially on Friday night. I could feel the bedroom floor vibrating.
d) I found the dinner menu very limited after the first evening.

The small rooms at the back of the property have toilet saniflows. The one in our room leaked and kept running at intervals through the night.
This is noisy and needs to be fixed. I’m sure that hotel will do it because they are normally very good with everything. It needs a good plumber to look at it and understand what’s going on - it’s not the valve – it’s got another leak into the cistern that goes on filling it and triggering it.

We stayed in Room 14 and although the room was great, the walls were paper thin. We could hear the neighbouring rooms TV and conversation word for word. It was also unfortunate for us that the guests liked to stay up until the early hours of the morning.
The parking was also an issue. If you want to stay longer than 1 night, it seemed like you had to find on street parking approx 10-15mins walk away.
Other than this issue, the room itself was great, location perfect, and service was excellent.

Comfortable stay with very pleasant host, bar and restaurant team. Bathroom could do with a spruce up on the tiles, and noisy toilets in other rooms woke me up at night but all other facilities were good.
