It was a bit hard to find due we reach at night time and there is no clear sign outside of the hotel. But luckly there is a helpful neighborhood so we manage to find it. Reception is small, so I don't really expect it will be nice until we open the room door, only WOW, it's big n comfy and the design is really cool. It's really worth to stay.

Second time staying at Hotel THAT. It's right next to the tallest building in Kaohsiung, easy access to places I needed to go. Decor was cool, loved that antique looking elevator.

Bathroom set up is horrendous. Curtains surrounding the toilet and shower in a bizarre way. Even couples need some privacy in the toilet. The room carpet was already wet when arrived. It easily gets wet because of the bathroom set up. Who had this the bad idea of having carpeted floor with a open bathroom set up. It doesn't look they maintain carpet well.

Check in was quick and easy, staffs are friendly. Room is nice and clean, not too small. During my stay I was told they are fixing the water heater, so I was advice not to bath (like a bubble bath). Didn't cause any trouble to me at all cox I wasn't planning to bubble bath anyway. Hot water was more than enough for normal shower. Toilet seat was broken, but usable. Elevator can get noisy, but luckily not so during night time. Didn't get to try their breakfast cause I slept in both days. Location is not bad, 10 min walk to closest subway station, convenience store just at the corner.

I called the hotel to find out how to get to there. The receptionist didn't know I was just round the corner and suggested I look for Bank of Taiwan and turn into the lane, which was at a far end. Perhaps she doesn't know the place well enough to instruct me.

The room is clean but the bathroom is really small. The bathtub is in the room, open area so dont think you can relax or enjoy using it. The lift is noisy but bearable. I lived on the 6th floor. The breakfast is okay.

Bad: room close to lift, noise at night; curtain control not available; carpet not extremely clean; bulb flashing - all at the same room; aircon broken at lobby in the morning Good: staff friendly

Unable to raise the curtain is the tell tale sign of coming troubles. Somehow told by the lobby staff the previous client stolen the remote to the curtain?! Then again in the night there is no warm water for bathing!! Next day someone just came to replenish the mineral water but somehow 'forgotten' to tidy up the room? Checked out the next afternoon. Not coming back ever.

The room is nice but details need to be impoved. The breakfast is plain if you wanna something nicer to start a day, the food served at next door restaurant is recommended.

Loved the room and the unique lift. The room was spacious and bed was comfy. The open bathroom concept is pretty cool but might be awkward for friends. Could hear the lift opening as my room was beside the lift but it was fine as only 4 units on my level and it wasn't too frequent. Hotel was about 10mins walk from the mrt and malls. Only downside was the breakfast was really simple and not to my liking - bread/pastry and a slice of bacon. Could add perhaps a small omelette/scrambled eggs. Overall, love this place and would stay here again.

It wasn't the easiest place to locate, but if you follow Sanduo 4th Road west from the Sanduo station, it's behind the movie theatres, which in turn is behind the Sky Tower hotel. The hotel is well managed with friendly staff who speak enough English, and has a nice relaxing lobby which doubles as the breakfast area in the morning. 'Breakfast' is a fairly sparse Asian-Western fusion (not buffet), but the drinks are decent. It was quite a pleasant surprise to find a 'Western standard' king size bed in our room, when we were used to much smaller all over Asia; the rooms are generously sized, and the atmosphere is quite pleasant with the open concept bathroom. The bed is actually quite comfortable as well, and a billowy down duvet is provided. Cleanliness is okay, though the less-accessed areas are a little behind (such as the visible area in the gap under the tub, carpeting in some areas); while the renovations make for a fairly modern atmosphere, it's evident the carpet has seen high wear and looks a bit shabby. Still, the room is refreshed to its original state each day while we're out and about. With the station about half a km away, you get a decent walk, but there are some interesting restaurants in the neighborhood. One night market is located near the Sanduo station, while at least 2 or 3 others are easily accessible by subway at nearby stations. Sanduo station can be reached directly by subway from the airport, or from the Kaohsiung train station to the north.

1) That cool elevator was supposed to be an attraction, but it turned out to be a total disaster. The elevator would only function when the door is closed properly, so there was 1 time that the elevator was "stucked" at the 6th fllor floor (assuming other customers forgot to close the gate), so we had to call the hotel staff to climb all the way to the elevator to close the door to make it run. 2) Our room was right beside the elevator. Our room can hear every time someone open or close the elevator gate. Staying at the 5th floor, we could hear people shouting and screaming from the ground floor lounge bar at 2am in the morning. 3) The wifi keep disconnecting. Very unstable.

The hotel is 5 level with a rooftop place where you can view out to the nearby harbor and ocean. Overall the hotel is decorated in a modern-dark decor theme. And a unique traditional elevator that manually draw open/ shut the grill doors. It was fun! For my first night I stayed in room 503; it was an open-concept decor with no division between the bathroom and bedroom; with a tub near the bed. Sadly there was also no view as the window drawn up faces a wall. But overall decor and feel is comfortable. For my second night stay i stayed in 601; it wasn't as big a room as earlier but comfortable and clean. Overall it was a lovely comfortable stay especially due to the great staffs.

I was very happy with the hotel, nice luxurious rooms, although the curtained toilet didn't give much privacy. Apart from that, service was friendly and excellent, and the price was very good. Breakfast was a sandwich, may need to look elsewhere if you need something more hearty. The elevator is old style and very cool! I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Kaohsiung. If you're in the 85 area, stay here!
