The hotel attempts to be cool and modern. In truth, it is old and dilapidated. We had a suite with a shared bathroom between the two bedrooms. One of the two doors to the bedrooms would not close because the door jam has shifted over time. This is just basic maintenance and it is absolutely not a new phenomenon. The place could be cool but it needs a multi-million dollar make-over. The staff were also so tedious. Most were not from SD and it showed. They tried to be so trendy and cool that it ended up being ridiculous.

The staff when we came in at 4:00 am, due to a storm seemed annoyed, but everyone else was amazing.

Great location. Historic charm and architecture with modern updates throughout. Very nice fitness center. Clean and comfy. The multi level rooftop bar was perfect for enjoying a cocktail and taking in the sights. Fun Irish pub downstairs with outdoor seating and good service.

The hotel's location in downtown made it convenient to start our day with restaurants close by. The bed was very comfortable. Having coffee in the room was nice.

The issue was an SUV with a travel box couldn’t be accommodated at this hotel from a parking perspective. We had to park on the street. The manager was insisting that it was out of his ability to issue a refund so we could go to a hotel where the car could be stowed safely. This was a great example of profit over humanity. A mom and a young child were asked to park across the way l, didn’t feel safe to park outside of the hotel property.

Nice place

The hotel was fantastic ! The staff were super friendly and helpful. Cocktails and dinner at the rooftop bar were delicious and there were many Gluten free options for me including fresh gf bread.

Great location in a historical property. “Historical” should be translated as small rooms with no desk and no chair. Refrigerator in our room didn’t work. Bathroom and main door stuck to the point that the main door needed to be shouldered to open it from hallway and heaved open from other side. Our “original” room was not ready for check-in at 4PM so we took first available and it was right next to elevator bank.

Enjoyed the central location and historic ambiance. Great central location for our day trip adventures. Loved the upstairs sky bar !

Wow!! This hotel is beautiful and historic. The view from the 10th floor is amazing. The staff were friendly and very professional. Valet brought my vehicle right away. I will certainly stay again.

Fantastic historic hotel in the heart of Rapid City. Walkable shops and restaurants. We will always stay here when going through Rapid City.

Okay hotel, EXTREMELY over priced for what it is. Hotel does have its charm, rooms are okay at best, and zero Hotel designated parking. Basically park on the street somewhere close

History

I could hear everything in the room next to us including conversations and our neighbors were very loud all night on one occasion. I did not report this until the next day, thinking nothing could be done about it. Perhaps my mistake

This is a beautiful historic hotel in downtown Rapud City. It is easy to drive to all of the sites from the hotel and theres lits to do within walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. A deep cleaning of the bathrooms is suggested. Loved the gift shop!

Great location

If you want to be right in the mix up in things, this will be a great stay! The historical hotel and all of the amenities within and close by we’re unbeatable. If you’re on the weekends parking is free and was not hard to find. Be prepared for some train noise if you are a light sleeper.
