We stayed at this hotel from October 15th to October 18th, 2025.
On our last day, we tried to book an online car transport, but since we had some difficulties, we decided to ask the Front Office for help to call a taxi.
The Front Office directed us to the concierge. At the concierge, they called a car that was waiting in front of the hotel. It turned out to be an unmetered and illegal taxi.
Shockingly, it was the hotel’s supervisor at the concierge area—not the driver—who quoted the price of 70 dollars.
We were confused, as hotels normally call for official taxis that use a meter. When we told the hotel supervisor that we did not want to take an illegal taxi, he reacted arrogantly and was not accepting.
In the end, we managed to successfully book an online car through the app instead.
This experience was very disappointing and truly damaging to Ascott’s reputation.
Is there some kind of business within a business going on here? This is also potentially veru unsafe and dangerous!
Very disappointed!
