Just off 101 but feels cozy with lots of nature around. Feels very safe and the hotel design is beautiful with a nice fountain at the entrance. The staff were particularly friendly and that is something I value. Wonderful smoothie shop just a 3 minute drive. I love this location just outside of LA 😊 Will definitely be staying here again as it’s now my go to when visiting the area.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hilton Calabazas. Food was really good and the staff were friendly. My big complaint was actually with Expedia because they overbooked our room and when I got to the hotel with my kids around midnight there was not a room for us- The double queen bedroom was not available but I got the confirmation email. The staff felt bad about us and worked hard to accommodate us in a king size room for the night and apologized for the inconvenience. I was traveling with my 3 kids so it was not easy. Next day we were moved to another room.

Great staff. Great location. The rooms are aging and need a refresh. Compared to other HGI locations, the pantry and grille could use improvement.

The check-in process was very smooth, and the room was very clean. It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful area. It was also nice and quiet with comfortable beds.

CONVENIENT TO MALIBU WHEN OTHER HOTELS ARE BOOKED DURING BUSY SEASONS

First problem was the AC. One has to turn on a light switch near the AC ventilation near the window. No one told us. The kind check-in clerk came to our room to show us. Then there is the automated motion lights in the closet and bathroom. There is a bypass switch that didn’t work. Every time a pass by happens, the closet light would shine into the bedroom. Same with the bathroom - an automated fan and light would turn also illuminating the room because the bathroom sliding doors are glass. Just poor designing.
