Jul 25, 2018 - Family vacation
It was a comfortable enough stay and reasonable value given the price. Guests should be aware that most of the even numbered rooms face the car park, and if you get an even-numbered Classic Room, the magnificent car park will be your main view, which is extremely disappointing given the pictures on the website indicate nothing of the sort. The receptionist was able to accommodate our prior request for a good view and shifted us from the 7th floor (702) to the 16th floor (1608), where the view was primarily lush hillside and slightly less vehicular. That said, both Classic and Premium rooms are very spacious. Service was slightly spotty. There was no concierge to greet and guide us through the check-in process, the receptionists were slow (leisurely and chatty) and did not welcome us to do the check-in. Furnishings in the hotel need a little better maintenance – the room’s daybed table and TV were askew, bathroom door would not close (kept rebounding open), and the dented paper toiletries box needs an upgrade. The bed is large and comfortable. Some consistency issues too. My room only had 1 bathrobe, and my parents' room (Premium too) did not have a coffee making machine while ours did. Breakfast selection was adequate but had quite a number of misses (e.g. sausages were tough, no butter except on request). We also had lunch there and food is unexciting, barely serviceable. Better venture outside for lunch and dinner. Guava juice in the lounge is superb. I wouldn't be too upset if I had to stay here again, but given a choice I would not return.
