Here are the steps to book Firefly tickets online:
Payments for Firefly tickets can be made via bank transfer, and credit card.
For more information regarding available payment methods, please visit the Payment Methods page.
The Firefly e-ticket serves as proof of your booking for Firefly flights. Show your e-ticket at the Firefly counter during check-in (either at the airport or online) to get your boarding pass. If you do not receive your e-ticket within 60 minutes after making payment, please contact Traveloka Customer Service immediately.
Search for Firefly (FY) tickets using your airports, dates and passenger count. Compare the ticket with the baggage and seat services your trip needs. For a flight offered with a partner airline, use the operating carrier's applicable product rather than extending a Firefly-only add-on to the codeshare.
Firefly's add-ons page lists 10 kg checked baggage and 7 kg cabin baggage. Its FlySmarter Bundle adds 5 kg checked weight and Preferred seat selection. For a 15 kg checked load against that 10 kg inclusion, compare the bundle with a separate 5 kg addition plus the Preferred seat you want. If you do not need that seat category, baggage alone may better match the services you use.
The bundle is available only with Saver or Basic fare brands on Firefly-operated flights, including the jet and ATR products described in its terms. It excludes Flex fares and codeshares. It is also unavailable after a separate seat-selection purchase, at the maximum 40 kg baggage allowance, for unaccompanied minors, or for group bookings of more than nine people.
FlySmarter's 5 kg is an addition, not a 5 kg replacement allowance or an unlimited bag upgrade. A 20 kg load against the stated 10 kg base plus the bundle still needs another 5 kg. The terms give a two-hour-before-departure purchase deadline and permit purchase through the airline's website, app, Live Chat or airport ticket office.
Preferred seats are near aircraft entry and exit points. The add-ons page separately describes Desired seats as offering extra legroom toward the front. FlySmarter includes Preferred selection, not every Desired or extra-legroom seat, and its terms exclude Preferred seats in emergency exit rows.
The bundle can therefore suit a traveller who needs its extra 5 kg and wants a Preferred seat. It does not establish that the ticket includes a meal, lounge access or a fee-free flight change. Count each passenger's selected services when comparing the trip total.
The published cabin limit is 7 kg and 56 × 36 × 23 cm. An increase in checked baggage does not increase this cabin allowance. Firefly's baggage FAQ also limits each checked piece to 32 kg, regardless of the total purchased weight.
For a 35 kg checked allowance, split the load into acceptable pieces rather than packing a single 35 kg bag. The FAQ says the checked allowance is not transferable to another passenger. The FlySmarter terms also forfeit unused purchased weight; using only 2 kg of its 5 kg addition does not generate a refund for the remaining 3 kg.
Firefly's third-party booking FAQ explicitly includes Traveloka purchases among bookings that can use My Booking to change or reschedule flights and add services. It permits updating passenger details while excluding name changes. The actual lookup uses a six-character alphanumeric airline booking reference and last name, with a selector for bookings made via Firefly or Malaysia Airlines.
Keep the airline reference separately from the Traveloka Booking ID. For a Traveloka e-ticket resend, use Booking ID, departure date and the mobile number supplied with the original booking. Retrieving a record does not complete a change or establish that no payment is required.
If the airline cannot retrieve the record for baggage or seat selection, its FAQ provides FY Live Chat at least two hours before departure, or web check-in, as alternatives. Traveloka's available booking services or support can also handle a Traveloka-issued ticket request. Retain the revised itinerary and service confirmations after a completed change.
FlySmarter is non-refundable for voluntary changes or cancellations and cannot be freely transferred between flights or passengers. Do not treat a ticket date change as confirmation that its bundle moves with it.
Its disruption rules are different: an involuntary change or cancellation can qualify for a bundle refund when it cannot be transferred to the replacement flight, or when the passenger declines that flight. For an involuntary seat reassignment, the terms allow a similar Preferred seat without extra charge and describe a refund for a downgrade to Standard. A reassignment to Desired is treated as an upgrade, not a seat-fee refund.
The current check-in widget covers Malaysian domestic flights, international departures from Malaysia and Singapore Seletar departures. It gives a window from seven days to one hour before departure, with 24 hours as the codeshare opening. Outbound and return flights are checked in separately. The third-party FAQ also permits eligible agency-issued tickets to use the service.
Departures from Singapore Changi, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines and Thailand require airport counter check-in under that notice. Web check-in is unavailable for passengers travelling with infants, passengers requiring the specified assistance, and bookings above nine passengers.
The general airport FAQ lists jet counters opening two hours and closing 45 minutes before departure for domestic and international flights. For ATR operations, it lists a 90-minute opening, 30-minute domestic closing and 45-minute international closing, subject to airport-specific exceptions.
These counter times do not extend the one-hour web check-in cutoff. Allow time for baggage, documents, security and boarding rather than using the closing time as an arrival target. The e-ticket confirms the booking; completing check-in and obtaining the boarding pass are separate steps.
Preferred seat selection and 5 kg extra checked baggage. Against the add-ons page’s 10 kg checked inclusion, it covers a 15 kg load. Compare the bundle with 5 kg and the Preferred seat bought separately; it does not include every extra-legroom seat or a free flight change.
No. It is for Saver and Basic on Firefly-operated flights, excluding Flex fares and codeshares. Other exclusions include an existing seat-selection purchase, the 40 kg baggage maximum, unaccompanied minors and group bookings above nine passengers. Its purchase deadline is two hours before departure.
Its terms make it non-refundable for voluntary changes or cancellations and non-transferable between flights or passengers. Involuntary disruptions have separate refund provisions when the bundle cannot transfer or the replacement flight is declined. Keep the bundle record separate from the changed ticket.
No. Firefly describes Preferred seats as near entry and exit points, and Desired seats as offering extra legroom near the front. FlySmarter includes Preferred selection and excludes Preferred emergency-exit-row seats.
No. The FAQ limits a checked piece to 32 kg regardless of the total allowance. Split a 35 kg load into acceptable pieces. The checked-weight purchase does not increase the separate 7 kg, 56 × 36 × 23 cm cabin limit.
Firefly’s third-party FAQ explicitly says yes for Traveloka purchases, including rescheduling and adding services. The form uses a six-character alphanumeric airline reference and last name, with a booking-issuer selector. Access does not mean a change is free or already completed; name changes are excluded.
Its FAQ provides FY Live Chat at least two hours before departure, or web check-in, as alternatives for these additions. Keep the airline reference and passenger name available. Traveloka’s available booking services or support can also assist with its issued ticket.
The current widget lists seven days to one hour before eligible departures, with a 24-hour codeshare opening. It covers Malaysian domestic, Malaysia-originating international and Singapore Seletar departures. Changi, Indonesia, Cambodia, the Philippines and Thailand departures require the counter; passenger restrictions also apply.
The general FAQ lists jet opening two hours and closing 45 minutes before domestic or international departure. ATR opens 90 minutes before, closes 30 minutes before domestic departure and 45 minutes before international departure, subject to airport exceptions. These times do not extend the one-hour web check-in cutoff.
