Mantra Nelson Bay

The washing machine smelt like fish had been spun in it. Could not use this and had to hand wash clothes. The button to switch from shower to bath did not work. My young son hates showers and water on his face so we had to do a sponge bath. The dishwasher door moved inwards down the bottom when opening it. Then a sharp metal piece stuck out. Could easily cut yourself and it was dirty and looked rusty. There was no internet the 5 days we were there. The toilet paper roll behind you is ridiculous with having to reach back to get it. Beds were comfy though and area clean enough. Balcony nice size with table and 4 chairs. New unit block being built near entry of the Mantra. In early stages at the moment but will be quite noisy as it proceeds along.

Well located and everything you could want in the apartment ( well, except a teapot). Bed very comfortable.

The apartment that we stayed in were very nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. We just wish that the kitchen is equipped with more condiments so we can actually cook with them such as oil, salt or pepper.

Room had not been cleaned properly from previous tenant. Hotel did not have a generator to support power to our room during a blackout even emergency lighting for fire escape was out and no communication from staff when this occurred

Wouldn’t recommend much nicer options around.

We had a lovely stay. A quiet room with an ensuite.

Not so good, apartment wasn’t very clean. Draws were not clean, very dusty under beds and behind furniture. Bathrooms need a good clean, en-suite toilet seat looked a bit yellow, I wiped it with a wipe and it was yellow (gross) Windows were dirty, inside and outside especially the balcony glass. The bedroom window seal filled with dead little fleas and dirt. I rang reception a couple of times to ask for a blow dryer and to fix the bedroom television, we could only view two channels. The second time I rang to inform the receptionist about the television she was short in her tone. Their response was quick and maintenance guy came promptly he was friendly and fixed the problem. On the last day I discovered the lamp in the kids room didn’t work, I let receptionist know when I checked out. Very disappointing, the apartment needs a good clean out and some maintenance.

Early check in was a pleasant and welcome surprise. Staff were very friendly and accommodating they offered us a free upgrade. Property itself very outdated and in need of a modern renovation. Very basic styling. Disappointing no restaurant, cafe or bar facilities.

Beautiful apartment hotel, nice swimming pool, large rooms. Couple of issues we encountered were slow to unusable Wifi connection which is a shame, also the TV in the apartment was quite old and could not connect to wifi at all, that was fixed by the hotel changing the TV unit to a brand new one next day

Awesome location and staff are great. Probably getting close to renovation time the apartment are starting to show there wear. but clean and tide never the less

very noisy due to pool site and uncontrolled kids in pool. unit comfortable but no so clean and a few problems like electricity and cleanliness on arrival.

Great property, location and amenities. Beautiful water views from apartment bedrooms and balcony. There were a few members of the public congregating outside the property after hours talking into the early hours so there was a bit of noise but that’s outside Mantra’s control. Everything else was perfect for a comfortable and value for money stay. Undercover parking a bonus to keep cars secure from theft and in case of storms. Highly recommended and happy to stay again - thank you!

Great size 3 bedroom apartment, however there was no air conditioning in the bedrooms and only 1 had a fan. If you opened the dirty windows, the road noise was loud. Needs an update and beds feel old and worn.

Property itself was a bit dated. Apartment bedding avg! Pillows were terrible Lobby was untidy

Clean and functional complex. Even if the actual unit was a bit dated; it was clean, quiet and pleasant. The lift worked, people were friendly and the shops and restaurants were only a five minute walk away. We liked it.

Great location. Poor facilities including gym.. extremely poor monkey
