Best Western Gold Rush Inn

I liked the airport shuttle, however it was quite hot in my room, and the phone did not work, so I almost missed my wake-up call.

Truly excellent and restful. Made my reservation via expedia, and because they didn't have any other pet room available, they put me in a two bedroom apartment at less cost. Additionally, staff were more than helpful, very nice stay here, thanks!

Old but charming and the most friendly staff!

The place was o.k. The maids did not seem in any rush to make up the rooms. Overall I did like the hotel and it was clean and safe.

I was in three different rooms during my time there (two bookings). The quality of bathrooms varied considerably with one being excellent in one being average and the third being below average. The third room I had had a large air conditioner taking up the bulk of the floor space. I paid the same for all three rooms!

The room was comfortable and we were able to settle in quickly. It was clean throughout the room and the main lobby. Checking in took us almost an hour because they were trying to find us a room (context: we booked 2 Queens & were originally offered 2 twins at check in which isn’t feasible for a family of 4). When we arrived we didn’t realize they only have 1 elevator which is small and could only accommodate a small group of guests at a time. So waiting for the elevator could take 5-30 minutes depending on how many people were in line in the lobby, so we ended up opting for the stairs instead. Overall the room was comfy and updated which was nice to have during such a long road trip. The staff was nice and trying to be as helpful as they could be. Parking is down the street which we didn’t know until we got there. Breakfast & dinner at the saloon wasn’t bad just a little pricey.

No onsite parking, parking is paid by meter in front of hotel, only one luggage cart which was way small to begin with, I didn’t find a ice machine or a pop machine, food wasn’t all that great in the restaurant and the service was even worse

Does NOT have on site parking. It’s STREET parking and you have to feed the meters. Homeless people around property. Parking is not so safe either, hotel makes you to sign a waiver that they are NOT responsible for loss of items. So they know the problem. Hotel itself is clean, breakfast is not included.

I arrived 10 mins before check-in time, told my room wasn’t ready. Came back 40 mins later, room still wasn’t ready. Came back again and guess…room not ready! 😡 I don’t know how they stay in business! I talked with 2 other people having the same problem & another who found someone already in the room they were given. The guy at the desk was blaming “housekeeping” for all of it. Wrong. Management. For the price it was overrated to me.

Property was very covenient to the downtown area of Whitehorse and staff was very helpful. Will definitely come back again in the future!

Quick stay the room was great but should be for the price.

I arrived late (after 11 pm) from a long drive-only to discover children running up and down hallway without supervision. Reported it to front desk, but about 15-20 minutes later again, children running around. I asked if there are quiet hours at the hotel, but was informed by front desk they didn't know. I was right in front of the elevator - so there was added traffic after midnight and around 6am...so limited sleep in that room. One thing I would have appreciated was a door hanger that says something to the effect of "Quiet please - weary traveller at rest"...I know when I see these door hangers, I try to be extra mindful to be quieter. As for the children, perhaps parents need to see visuals of "Parents, please ensure your children do not roam or run in hallways" or something for all guests posted in the elevator to say "Welcome Guests, you will be happy to know that quiet hours are 11 pm so that you and all guests can enjoy a restful sleep". Finally, came to take a bath this morning - and my tub had a ring around it. I used the hotel make up wipes and my own make up wipes to clean it and sure enough...there was grime on the wipes. :S If hotel staff cannot clean the tub properly, then please offer to provide Clorox wipes for guests at check in to wipe their own tubs. Room had a strange smell - but was too tired to put this in to front desk. I had to use my spray to mask the smell. This said, otherwise rest of room was clean, sheets clean, bed comfy and towels clean.

They advertise free parking. But they have no parking. Parking is on the street. You pay the meter until 5:30, so you don’t get a ticket. For the amount they charge for the room, this is unacceptable.

There is no early or any breakfast provided. The one we stayed in in Anchorage provided a nourishing breakfast on the house. Not impressed with Gold Rush Inn.
