On our journey from Labrador to Edmonton, we made a nice stop in Thunder Bay. Interestingly, before this, we had a short detour through Oklahoma! 😄
In Thunder Bay, we stayed two nights with the family. The beds were super comfortable, and even though our room was on the second floor, it was easy to step out and enjoy a walk outside. The area felt safe and peaceful.
I also took the opportunity to get our Kia serviced—everything went smoothly. The kids especially loved watching planes take off and land nearby—it really got them excited! 🛫
To top it off, we found a few great restaurants, especially a Chinese place I really enjoyed. All in all, a restful and fun break in Thunder Bay.

The breakfast was good but all disposable plates, etc. I found that unfortunate when we should be better about environmental issues.

Close to most shopping and dining. Rooms are fairly clean, hallways not so much. Staff are nice. Like all Thunder Bay hotels, way overpriced for what you get.

was not impressed when someone set the fire alarm off at 2:30 in the morning and there was no fire and it stayed on for almost 30 minutes and we received know explanation that night and know one said anything to us about

In all honesty, the room was quite dirty. I had piles of sand swept up around the walls, and old spills with ants around them, dripping down the wall and pooled on the ground and wrappers under the bed. The floor in the bathroom had a fair bit of hair and dirt. I had put up a do not disturb sign, but came back and my room had been made up, and everything moved. I have expensive gear and I would have preferred it not be touched and I can make do with the linens I had as I was the only one in the room, which is why I had the sign on the door. Everything else was great, staff were nice, breakfast good, check in and out good, just the cleanliness of the room was a bit of a downer. Not fun walking around and getting dirt and sand all in your toes and socks.

I couldn’t tell if this hotel was for low income as well, or just a regular hotel. I didn’t feel like it was clean enough to have a shower. Hallways wreaked of pot/weed. People outside were bbqing.
I just felt unsafe leaving a car packed full of stuff. When I explained to the desk clerk, he told me to leave my car parked where I had pulled in.
I will be travelling back thru Thunder Bay and will find a different hotel.
