Fernie Slopeside Lodge

For a non-smoking facility, the room smelled of smoke. The bed linens are more ivory than white. The mattresses are very firm without any pillow topper so you can feel the springs. The window/AC unit is very drafty so sitting at the table you will have cold feet. The walls between rooms are not well insulated if at all. You will hear your neighbour turn on the shower as the water sound through the pipes will shatter your sleep. The bathroom is typical of hotels that have maintenance done by DIY amateurs. However, the toilet has incredible flush power. If your intention is to be right on the hill for easy access skiing, I would recommend staying at a more comfortable hotel in town and taking the free shuttle or driving the 10 minutes to park for free. It is worth the extra hassle.

Overall a good property! Could use a few modernization upgrades. Would stay again.

Easy check in right beside hill at a low price!

Great service! It’s certainly the budget option, but in comparison to other budget options, this one was great. Clean rooms with massive TV’s, social and common areas with a pool table, this place had everything we needed. Staff at check in were phenomenal and able to assist with everything.

Comfy basic motel steps in the fernie village. Can’t beat the location. Friendly staff, comfy beds, and super affordable.

Taps and sink stopper needed some unkeep

Bathroom & shower require an update. Broken tiles & rusted tub. Dysfunctional curtain rod & missing electrical outlet cover.

Great location and value on the ski hill

I gave it 5 star for the price and location. It’s clean and not as bad as some reviews. It’s true that the beds, sheets, and chairs need update, but we all enjoyed the very clean room and the facilities. The staff is also very friendly and helpful. We will go back again.

This is the third time I stayed at Fernie Slopeside Lodge and I love it as always. I will definitely come back again!

This is an easy hotel and great price for on the hill

Great location. Beds are quite hard.

Rooms are not clean. In fact, they’re quite dirty and it made the stay feel unsanitary

No staff at check-in (we arrived late) I’m glad I call in advance as they never sent the self check-in instructions ahead. In the morning we got a very rude housekeeping crew knocking violently in our door more than 30 minutes before check-out. No apologies given or and no one from management in the front desk. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Location is great, too bad. Not using them again.

It’s a ski lodge. Very well dated and used. Good scenery of the dry ski hills and lifts. The worst part of the whole experience was being in a hotel, in the middle of summer and they don’t have ice machine.
