Hampton Inn and Suites by Hilton Thunder Bay

For being a higher end hotel in the area, it is starting to show where which was discouraging as it wasn't to my expectations, especially for the amount they were charging per night.

Great place to stay.

Basic hotel, nothing unusual. Getting to it was a little odd, but overall it was okay.

Very nice, comfortable, clean, nice amenities and a friendly, helpful staff. Couldn’t get a taxi even with staffs help. Staff helped me get a ride with another customer.

Everything about the place was great. It’s 5 minutes from the airport with free shuttle, the rooms are great & breakfast very good, plenty of variety.

Great clean hotel.

The signage to find the way in to the parking lot poor!!! Street signage poor and hidden by trees. You knew where it was but how do you get to it? Google maps was no help at all either. Very frustrating. The pool was cold and noxious with chlorine! It even ruined my bathing suits colour. The bed was very hard and the pillows are garbage! They are nice and fluffy but go flat when you use them. There must be a drain pipe from higher floors in the wall because the sound of water running was often and disturbed my sleep. Worse when it rained but bad even when not raining. There was a funky smell too but we got used to it once in the room. The fridge froze our pop and waters we had in the fridge too! Staff was good and friendly but just just not that impressed with the hotel.

Staff were very friendly. Room was spacious and clean. Air conditioner did not cool the room off and the mattress was springy.

Nice and clean

The room was really clean and the hotel was good. Gym was well equipped and the pool was excellent. The complimentary breakfast was good but not amazing. The food was pretty dried out by 8am. Hard pancakes and sausages. Coffee was great. There are no vending machines and they didn't have any sugar free drinks available to purchase from the front desk. I asked for a complimentary pack of shaving cream but it smelled like rotten sour cream. I still don't know what that was about. Overall i the hotel and room were pretty good compared to others in the city. The area around the hotel is pretty sketchy. A lot of homeless people around and generally not a safe feeling after dark. There is one good Mexican restaurant nearby, but mostly just fast food and a Walmart. It's a 3 minute drive from the airport which is nice.

Edward at the reception desk was wonderful. He went above and beyond by giving me tech support when I was having difficulties with the Hilton app. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable.

Had a good stay. The pool was kinda cold. Loved that breakfast was early. The crib came quickly to our room The gentleman at the front desk was awesome.

I had a short, but great visit to this location. The breakfast was great as was the room.
