Overall, our stay was good! Check-in was smooth, and the room was beautiful - although quite dusty on the tables, side tables, and countertops. The bathroom was great though.
We were encouraged to make a breakfast reservation and had amazing service with the gentleman who helped us (didn't catch his name). In the morning, we were ready earlier and popped into the restaurant around 9:30–9:40am to see if anything was available sooner. We were happy to wait until 10 if needed, just thought we'd check.
The host, Julie, was quite rude. She said, “Well, we have a waitlist right now…” I replied, “No worries, we’re happy to wait until our reservation at 10.” She said, “Yeah, we’ll try to get you a spot at 10.” I clarified, “Oh, we already have a reservation, we were just checking.” Julie responded, “Yeah. I’m aware of that,” with a smirk.
We weren’t trying to cause trouble - just checking. It was disappointing, as we've always had good service here.
We were seated around 10:05am. Our server, Aaron, was okay but didn’t go out of his way to check in on us or make us feel particularly welcome. The tables also weren’t clean - wiped down with what seemed like a dirty towel, which another guest noticed too.
On a positive note, we grabbed coffee at the café before checkout and the service was amazing! Piper was lovely - so friendly and kind. Hopefully she gets some recognition for her great customer service!
Very nice hotel, family-oriented and a truly great place to stay. This was our second time here, and we’ll definitely be coming back again. The overall atmosphere is warm and welcoming, perfect for both relaxation and exploration.
I want to especially thank the front desk team — they are simply amazing. Ellie from the front desk truly made our stay exceptional. From the check-in process to any little questions we had during our visit, Ellie was consistently there with a smile, ready to assist. She was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and always went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Her friendly attitude and genuine care made a real difference and added a personal touch that we deeply appreciated.
It was also my first time hearing about the Stash rewards program, and Ellie took the time to explain it thoroughly. She kindly walked me through the registration process and helped me understand how to make the most of the program for future stays. Her professionalism and customer service were top-notch — truly a shining example of hospitality.
The hotel itself is well-maintained with great amenities. The swimming pool and garden area are lovely, and it’s refreshing to take a walk around the grounds. You’re also just a short 10-minute walk away from downtown Victoria, with beautiful scenery and the nearby harbour making every step enjoyable.
Overall, we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Highly recommended!
