Everything went smoothly, things were clean and the restaurant was good for supper and brunch. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub (which is quite small). The parking is valet and is expensive, so we parked across the street at City Hall.

We enjoyed our stay as a family. The one thing to consider prior to booking is confirming if the Valet Parking has availability. It was very inconvenient to be told that there was no more valet parking when arriving after an 8 hour drive with a young family and having to head out in the weather to find public parking and walk back. Not Ideal

If you are driving a truck, it is a gamble for parking at all. We were sent to city hall. Side lot was full and were too big for underground.
Make a reservation if you want to go to restaurant. Couldnt get in for dinner without one when we got there. Made one for breakfast just in case and didnt need it.
Pool was nice. Hot tub and sauna were good.

This is a great place to stay if you like to walk around Ottawa and enjoy the sites. Parking was difficult this year because of a major snow storm, however staff coped well and were very helpful.

If you’re interested in approximated this is a great location. We skated the Rideau canal and couldn’t have been happier. About a 6 minute walk.

I went to Ottawa to skate the Rideau Canal which is 5 minutes from the hotel. It was nice to unwind in the pool and hot tub and the room was clean and comfortable. I appreciated not having to worry about my car and having a grocery store within walking distance.

I visited the Lord Elgin in February, so it's hard to say how walkable it could be, as there were snowbanks all around. I would think in summer it would be much better. Traffic is quite busy, as it's downtown, so it's not a quiet area, but inside the hotel it was quiet. The location is quite convenient, a bit far from the airport, but not too bad - I took a taxi to the hotel from the airport, and it cost about $50 with tip.
My room was very pleasant; everything was clean, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, but the pillows were hard and lumpy. I was a bit surprised that there wasn't any bottled water available in the room, nothing except coffee and tea. Of course, you could purchase from room service.
The restaurant inside the hotel is very nice; I ate all my meals at the hotel. Most of the food I ordered was good, the quiche was excellent...food was better eaten in the restaurant rather than room service. I ordered fish & chips thru room service, and it wasn't hot when I received it.
The hotel lobby looked a bit grubby, but that could be because it's winter, with all the salt and mucky winter boots coming in.
