Silver Dart Lodge

Fantastic

The view from the East block room, and the chairs outside so we could enjoy it, were appreciated. Very comfortable beds and soft towels. However the place looked a bit tired and a musty smell permeated the room and hallway. Tub drain slow.

Really nice cozy room overlooking lake. Recommend getting the upper floor rooms. Staff at checkin was super friendly. Continental breakfast was included and it was great. The baked goods tasted homemade which was super.

The staff were lovely at this very nice location. It’s very handy to walk to downtown Baddeck .

Property is a little bit old but super clean and very comfortable. Every staff member we encountered was super friendly & helpful. Beautiful views of the lake & fresh baking at breakfast was delicious. All in all an excellent place to stay.

We stayed for 3 nights at the Silver Dart on a recent trip to Cape Breton as a couple on holiday from Scotland. Baddeck is a good location from which to explore all the island has to offer and the Silver Dart is conveniently within walking distance of the centre where there's a good choice of eating places. We had a comfortable stay and were impressed by the standard of facilities, size of room, outside sitting area and surroundings, including wonderful views over Bras d'Or Lake. We had one evening meal and breakfast each morning. Food quality was excellent, with good choices, and service extremely efficient and friendly. The lodge is in a quiet location ensuring a sound sleep, with comfy beds and two chairs for relaxation. Coffee/tea making facilities provided, fridge, and an ice machine close by. We had such a wonderful stay at Silver Dart so I have no hesitation recommending it to travellers looking for a nice base to tour Cape Breton. Staff couldn't have been more friendly and we would definitely go back another time.

Great space with lots of amenities and friendly staff!

The room was older, with sticky padio door, from lots of paint. So it really didnt close well. Then we had an infestation of asian beatles one evening after we were out to a Celtic Colors consert. Im talking 30 to 40 beatles flipping around the ceiling. Also no other hotels or motels abailable because of the busy season, so we left, and drove home to PEI. Disappointing becoming we came for the Cabot Trail, and didn't get to see it. Not a great experience.

Weird add ons that were not expected and when I questioned the lady about it she was acting like I upset her. If only the charges and procedure were explained to me and not taken for granted then all would have been well. I’m the end the charges were refunded but again a simple explanation would have been a benefit.
