We had such an amazing stay at the Peninsula Shanghai. We were treated so well by all the staff. The room is spacious and grand, we joked that our son can just sleep in the giant closet. The pool is spectacular. We highly recommend the Peninsula Shanghai

Opulent property in a great location. Room has some dated items (fax machine, printer) but overall lovely.
Staff was exceptional. Concierge Danny was a gem helping us to secure tickets to Disney and was so patient working through challenges.
Spa staff and spa experience was top tier. Great experience!

Overral impression is okay. Service is a main point of concern. During the lunch time in the lobby area after having main courses and salads we were not allowed to share a single pot of tea for three of us. We have been forced to buy 3 pots of tea instead: one for each of us. In the meanwhile during all 5 breakfasts we had there, every time we asked for tea there was only one pot served as a default setting. No doubt we had more on request, but after a request only.

Was supposed to get a complimentary upgrade due to my membership level, didn’t get one. Enquired and was told I had one already but I had the room I booked online, no upgrade added.
Apart from that, nice hotel but they allow non hotel guests to que up for lunch an hour before it starts and so the entire entrance area is packed and kind of ruins the tranquility and vibe the hotel has. Super busy and the block the walkways.

Very quiet environment as room is away from the lift

The Peninsula Shanghai is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the most exciting aspects of the city in luxury. The hotel is elegant and well serviced with outstanding staff. Access to the Bund with fabulous dining and site seeing opportunities could not be better. Our room was spacious and luxurious with ample storage and high end amenities.
