The shuttle service was fantastic and made travelling with kids and luggage so much easier, also the staff were all so helpful during our stay. Even the standard twin room was very spacious and had everything we needed.

I needed a last minute room for myself and the kids to avoid faffing around at the airport. This fit the bill. Nice room, two double beds, clean, and ironing board. Breakfast was at 5:30, buffet and pretty good. Kids fed and in the pre-booked shuttle for 5:55. 5 mins and at the airport but easily walkable. Job done.

Good location for airport obviously. Shuttle bus was bookable for the morning flight but only in half hour slots. Food and drink were good standard the night before. Room was nice and quiet. Would stay again.

Picked based on location, easy walk across the street to the terminals. Hotel entrance & staff were great, our room was decent (more of a 3 star). Functional.

Pretty bad hotel for its price. AC in the room was not working. It was making sound but not blowing air at all. We could not open windows for fresh air either because of noise - people screaming and vehicles coming in and out right under our windows. When trying to switch night lights on, the whole room was getting blacked out, apparently some short circuit issues, which no one is checking on. Bath tub’s bottom surface was very slippery. There was a small sign in the corner stating that a “safety mat” for the bath tub is available upon request. This is the dumbest thing we’ve ever seen. If the surface is already known to pose safety hazard, why not to provide mats to your customers? Hotel management wants people to slip and fall first, before they provide a safety mat! Restaurant was just OK, big choice of junk food which, to the fairness, was tasty. The staff was not attentive. Won’t stay there again, unless the price goes down and becomes comparable with other low level hotels in the area.

Very convenient for the airport. The free shuttle bus was handy and the driver very friendly. However for a four star, we missed having extras in the bathroom - no slippers, shower caps etc.

The voucher - I had to ask for it . The bus transfer we missed by 5 mins at 4.20 am - went for 4.30 bus was empty but said we couldn’t get on and we would have to walk! He enjoyed it . Also beds are on wheels and move every time you move - so uncomfortable. I will never stay here again . Go to the Radisson . Have to say the guy that picked us up from airport and took us to Clayton was fantastic.

Woeful stay at Clayton Manchester. Check in delayed by 30mins due to lack of staff and system issues with the automatic check in. Room was poor with damage to lots of areas but specifically a botched repair to the ceiling. TV didn’t work and waited 20mins for them to arrive. To be fair it was just an aerial that was pulled out and I fixed it myself. Room was above the kitchen area. A hot evening / night necessitated an open window. Not ideal, with cooking smells lingering all night. I virtually never write reviews but this was a comedy of errors all round, with no real expertise to resolve issues.

Serivce in restaurant/bar was terrible. Ordered chicken burger with specific instructions that there be plain mayo and no cheese or salad. Came out with spicy mayo. Returned and told them i wanted plain mayo. Next burger came out with plain mayo but with cheese. Returned again. 2 mins later burger came out again but was like chewing leather as they obviously cooked it to quick. I asked for a refund. Told me id receive refund within 7 days. Will see how that works out.

The showerhead in the bathroom is in a very unhygienic condition, and the air conditioning system is prone to frequent breakdowns. I suggest that the hotel enhance its cleaning procedures, replace worn or faulty equipment, and carry out thorough inspections regularly.

Delayed arrival at Manc Airport meant it was unsafe to drive my family home. This necessitated a last minute hotel booking - so in that respect, Clayton did its job perfectly well. It is, however, a very tired hotel and any stay longer than one night would be a depressing experience.

Big hotel , ideally located 5min walk to the tram/train station. Hotel its self was good, rooms were big, beds comfy enough for 1 night. Nice if they were bigger - were used to a super king. Bit tricky to use the loo with the grab rail so close - a larger person might struggle. Noticed some stray beard hairs around the sink from the previous occupants shave and upon having a shower , I discover the provided shower gel was empty ! Extortionate prices in the reception for a packet of crisps and a drink - £8 ! I thought the hotel smelt musty but the husband couldn’t smell anything. So maybe just me. You could hear the guest next door - just having a normal phone conversation. No A/C in the room, and an open window just let in noise from a plant room ? Check in / check out easy enough, all done by self service. All in all , suited us for the location and price , elements could’ve been better.
