Holiday Inn Express SOUTHAMPTON M27, JCT.7 by IHG, an IHG Hotel

D8nig area has holes/tears in carpet as big as 12in. X 12in and seam tears 18". Room was clean but in need of updating, as there were drilled hole showing in multiple places where previous fixtures used to be. Staff was efficient, but average on friendliness. Outside landscaping was not kept at all. Room was on the small side, but clean

Room very cold. Bed small not up to premier inn standard. Facilities minimal restaurant appalling.waste of money apart from onion rings wouldn’t stay again out of choice.

This hotel was a disaster from the very beginning. It just felt dirty in the bedrooms, the carpets were very stained. My wife used the restroom and immediately the roll of toilet paper fell off the wall and into a puddle of water that had accumulated around the toilet. I assume either the toilet or the shower was leaking. The toilet roll holder was at fault and it was impossible to securely reattach a roll of toilet paper to it. So we just had to improvise. On checking the bedding, it was stained in several places. Not necessarily stains that would wash out, permanent stains, but even so it didn’t Make us feel confident about the cleanliness of the hotel. By far the worst part of the hotel was the breakfast arrangements. I’ll admit, we were at the hotel at a very busy time and the restaurant just couldn’t cope with the number of visitors. It was almost impossible to find a free table but the bigger issue was the lack of staff. They were clearly stressed, I witnessed one of them being very short tempered with guests. The restaurant was also very dirty. However, on our last day, we thought breakfast ended at 10 AM. At 9:45 AM my wife was in line to get some fried eggs, and a female employee pushed in front of her and removed almost a full tin of eggs and took them into the kitchen. They were never replaced. We assumed maybe we were wrong and breakfast ended at 9: 30 a.m. but on checking, it just seemed the staff wanted to go home early. We will not be returning.

Restaurant has a reasonable range of food for dinner and a great breakfast. Room is a little tired but functional. Staff were happy to provide extra tea and milk Bed was large and comfy though we both struggled with the pillows. Aircon worked well and it was nice to be able to open a window. Plenty of parking though no longer free as we booked before the charge we were provided free parking.

I was a bit disappointed by the breakfast. The buffet area was too small and the only eggs were scrambled eggs

Not impressed with the new car park charge no need for it you pay enough for room drinks and food not cheap our room was looking dated and only had a normal double bed not king size but will still stay here again

A little bit annoyed as when we booked it was free parking they are now charging £7 for parking which I hadn’t been informed about the lady on reception said they started charging in April 😩

It felt a bit run down, didn't offer airport shuttle, it was ok for one night before a cruise

The chicken staff was amazing along with the breakfast. Staff was very helpful.

Requested extra pillows, but none available Breakfast good selection very busy though so glass and cutlery were running out

Nice bar, decent rooms, convenient for the cruise port.

We went when it was really busy so we couldn’t get breakfast as the q was out the door to be seated. There was one member of staff who kept shouting and showing off all the time which was abit off putting but apart from that it was pleasant enough.

Rooms were comfortable For the one night we were there. Evening food and breakfast was good.

Car park not big enough went out for meal came back car park full

Solid hotel with the basics. Close to bus stop which connects you to the rest of Southampton. Hotel has no where to fill your own water bottle and no where to buy basics (e.g., toothpaste, snacks) besides the restaurant. Clean and spacious room.

The hotel was very busy and service was a little slow because of this. Otherwise, our stay was good.
