Holiday Inn NORWICH CITY, an IHG Hotel

A few days’ break during half term. The hotel is great for Norwich City fans, we had great fun watching the ground staff working to get the pitch ready for the next game as our room overlooked the pitch! Easy walk to the Riverside restaurants and facilities and just a hop over the road to Morrisons for a snack. Not far into the city centre either. The car parking is a little confusing on first arrival but was fine one we knew which area to use. Not sure what it would be like on a match day though? Enjoyed our stay, would book again.

Myself and my husband did not sleep at all. There was a constant loud, whirring, engine noise going all night. We thought initially that it might be our air con in the room needing time to switch off so gave it a while but by 2.30am it had not stopped. I went down to the reception desk, explained and asked for ear plugs. Staff were attentive and got these straight away. Unfortunately, the ear plugs didn't work as the noise was so bad. We left this morning feeling extremely disappointed and tired. We had no energy to do what we had planned on the Sunday in Norwich. As I checked out I explained to the receptionist about our stay. After reading reviews and from face-to-face responses with staff, it is clear the hotel are aware that rooms on the sixth floor (600+) have noise above them as the air conditioning units for the whole hotel are above these rooms. These rooms are knowingly being booked out and nothing is being done to resolve the issue. Even complementary ear plugs in the room would be an acknowledged start. I had to go down at 2.30am and ask for some. When booking through Hotels.com try and find out your room number first.

pleasant hotel very good breakfast clean room friendly staff all good . just a piece of advice to people who want to use public transport the busses stop running past the hotel at approx 17:00 so if you are disabled get a cab back from the city centre

Our room aircon did not seem to warm up and we had to ask for a heater.

Rooms are comfortable enough but I had an issue with the heating not working in my room. Communication only happened regarding this when I chased it up, and whilst the problem was eventually rectified not a word of apology from any members of staff I talked to. Disappointing.

Very good hotel with an excellent breakfast and friendly staff. I would have liked more choice on the room service menu, but very good despite this.

Good hotel as a base to go to football or shopping in Norwich. Decent breakfast,room comfy and quiet, and a reasonable price. Not a place for luxury,and no great views ( unless you like seeing a football pitch!) but had everything we needed.

Great experience for ANY football fan. Well worth it & value for money. Also, a large Morrisons right next door. Hotel was conformable, staff were friendly and accommodating.

Lovely hotel, with a nice restaurant and bar. good location about 20 mins walk to the city centre. Was lucky enough to have a room with a view of the football pitch and even watched the match from the comfort of our room with a cup of tea.

We had a great 2 night stay in a pitch view room. The room was comfy and clean and a great view of the pitch. Beds were very small and not the comfiest. Hotel was in a great location and with onsite parking. Chargeable but as expected for town centre. Breakfast was great with plenty of choice. Will definitely be back (maybe for a bigger bed/room)

Great location and within walking distance of the City. Close to a great retail park with shops and restaurants. Easy onsite parking and an excellent breakfast. Morrisons next door which was really convenient.
