Always very comfortable beds and room. Good bar & restaurant. Very friendly, easy for speedy departure early morning. Makes getting an early flight less painful.

Perfect location after a late flight. Breakfast was great and very nice efficient staff. Would have given in five stars but evening bar staff were a bit reluctant to serve us as they were closing shortly and therefore not very friendly. Netflix could not be accessed despite our best efforts, and the advice of reception.

Convenient for airport

AVOID!!! Use premier inn instead! Booked the Sofitel Gatwick as it is being sold as a luxury experience. Our stay was far from that. Staff at reception desk were polite enough but the room was awful. We went for a classic room (Room 158). The bed is old and so soft you leave ‘craters’ in it. Pillows, likewise, really cheap. The room had a damp smell in it coming from the bathroom. It was hot and uncomfortable throughout the night so we couldn’t get any decent sleep. You cannot open the windows for fresh air. The air conditioner wasn’t working properly. Clean towels were left in the cupboard where usually shoes are placed. Honestly, such a disappointing stay. We thought we’d wake up fresh and ready to travel but actually it’s the opposite. Location is excellent and convenient but it is the most expensive hotel at the airport. At that price you have a certain level of expectation which it simply does not meet. Definitely overpriced and not a luxury experience at all. Better to stay in a Travel lodge or Premier Inn where you get a King sized bed, cleaner and newer facilities and arguably a more comfortable and restful nights sleep.

Reception staff very efficient at checkin. Pleased to be upgraded without asking and the inclusion of breakfast was very acceptable.First stay at this hotel although we have stayed many times at Sofitel Heathrow Terminal 5.

Staff were very helpful

The whole process at Sofitel - from booking, to online check in, to arriving to collect room keys - was easy and efficient. Our stay was the start of our honeymoon, and the staff had left a message of congratulations in the room with sweet treats. All the staff were friendly and helpful, and nothing was too much bother. There are different dining options available and we had booked Vanda (the Chinese). The food was delicious but very pricey.

You can’t drive to the hotel without paying!!! We were very disappointed to get a £60 fine for dropping the bags. No one told us that the car drop off bay to drop the bags was inside the NCP pay area! So we got a £60 fine… After speaking to the hotel they said it wasn’t there problem and wouldn’t speak to NCP..

Humming noise in room. Checked air con, sockets etc… no! Gave up and rang down at 1am to be offered a new room when we were leaving at 4am. Asked them to check sound twice with no call back with further info from reception. Gave a polite review on check out to be told by a very disagreeable employee that we were offed a change. When I again explained the lack of info she said well what did you expect. No need to be rude and no, I won’t be booking again or giving positive review. Very upset!
