We greatly enjoyed our stay! It is convenient to shopping and restaurants and has a beautiful view of the harbour and mountains! Staff were courteous and helpful.
The breakfast buffet has many many incredible offerings, including gluten free grains, bread, and much more! 4 varieties of pickled herring! The Chef is friendly and knowledgeable about GF items.

Right on the harbor, conveniently located near everything downtown, beautiful views of the bridge and harbor from the dining area (and some rooms). Breakfast was plentiful and had a great variety. Would recommend!

The hotel is situated in the area you ideally want to be as a tourist visiting Tromso. Most excursions meetups are nearby, bus to/from the airport stops in front of the hotel, just a short walk to convenience stores and restaurants.
They also offer tons of breakfast options catering to all kinds of dietary needs. Also, they’re bathroom floors are heated which is very nice to have for winter stays.

Ideally located in Tromsø Sentrum. Pleasant & professional staff. Easy taxi & bus service. Clean & great breakfast. Unfortunately the roof is closed during the winter so we were unable to use it for aurora viewing.

I loved the large window and couch I had in my room, overlooking the mountains and the sea. I was on the top floor.
Breakfast is amazing, so much choice for all tastes, and so many Norwegian foods to try.
The bed was very good, but I found the storage area (wardrobe, cupboard, drawers) a bit minimal. I also found that the temperature in the room was a bit too hot for me, and I ended up sleeping with the window open.
Some of the reception staff were very friendly, some not so much.

Good location in central Tromso beside the harbour, with easy parking beside the property and just a few minutes walk to the centre and lots of shops, restaurants etc.
Comfortable beds and an amazing breakfast buffet with loads of cooked, continental and local choices

We had a great stay at the Scandic Ishavshotel. After a lot of debate about which hotel to pick we are really pleased with our choice. The location is brilliant - close access to every location and the bus routes. The view from the room is absolutely stunning and the breakfast is delicious any day.
We dropped a point for the fact that it is phenomenally busy with a big turn over of guests so we struggled to get a seat at breakfast each morning.
We did notice this big turnover also meant that although lovely and friendly the staff didn’t engage as much with guests as they would with a smaller hotel - this isn’t a fault though, more a preference.
Can highly recommend for a trip to Tromso.

The rooms were nice. Our room overlooked the fjord so the view was beautiful! The included breakfasts were delicious and they offered selections for every taste. The hotel is close to the bus station and right in the center of town. Great choice!
