Grand Hôtel Roi René Aix-en-Provence Centre -MGallery Collection

In our case, my wife and I thought the staff was excellent, the property was very nice, the hotel was very close to the train station, downtown, parks, and cinema. Although my wife and I are multilingual, French is not a language either of us speak, but the staff was accommodating when we tried some simple phrases. In total, it is a hotel I would recommend to someone visiting the area.

First, the positives. Great location, very clean and well appointed with L'Occitaine toiletries and coffee, etc. Very comfortable bed and room and we had a nice balcony overlooking the pool. The negatives: They have no USB ports in the room to charge your phone, I called the front desk, they said they'd already given all of the chargers out to other guests so I'd have to "go buy one myself" which was disappointing. Had they mentioned no USB ports on their website, I would have brought my own charger! They were doing some kind of construction so there was drilling going on starting at 9am. The website says the pool is heated but it was most definitely not. We had to ask to have our room cleaned at 3:45 in the afternoon and the night before we left, the door handle to the shower room came off in my hand. Overall, not a horrible experience, but it certainly not the 4 star experience we were hoping for.

The hotel was undergoing renovations, which took a little bit of the comfort away. The staff were friendly and helpful, breakfast was good, the only downside was the lack of air conditioning. We had to keep the windows open all night and the streets were loud…

Absolutely perfect!

Great Location and easy private parking. Rooms very nice but bathrooms need updating to walking in showers. Pool area very small and not enough brolly’s for shade. Backs on to a scruffy building which initially looks like part of the hotel but not. Expensive for what you get.

Fine. Amazing breakfast. Parking was added to our bill when e didn’t use it so please check! That was naughty.

Blocks from the market in Aix en Provence. Really nice property with great breakfast buffet, balcony room and lovely pool.

I liked the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. No early check in however and i expected more of the gym from a hotel of this caliber. No English TV channels considering much of the cliental appears to be english speaking.

We were actually sick and took 2 days here to recover. The staff were amazing caring for us!

Beautiful pool and outdoor area. Desk staff were great. Waiters were rude. Good walking distance to Coeurs Mirabou.

First time in Aix. Close to transportation hubs (rail and bus) close to cour Mirabeau heart of city, shopping, dining. Classy hotel, outstanding service and breakfast. Will not look for alternate accommodation if we return.
