The property is right next to the harbor and had a wonderful view of it. While the hallway was a little worn the rooms were nicely done. If you have a car the parking is not that close, luckily found street parking right in front of the hotel.
Overall the hotel was a pleasant stay with friendly staff.

Perfect location for all there is to experience in Haraklion. The hotel was busy with international (mostly American) tour groups creating a bit of congestion from time to time. A great location from which you can walk almost everywhere. We didn’t dine at the hotel but it did come recommended. Our room on the 5th floor had plenty of space and great views over the harbour. Bathroom was clean and serviceable.

Let me summarize the issues we have had with this hotel:
1. we paid an extra price to get the seaview room and we are assigned by the first floor where we can only see roofs
2. the front desk was talking loudly over the phone last night and I was woke up by 2am and could not fall asleep since
3. there are bed bugs in the room and both me and my daughter got bites.

The Lato is in an excellent location if you are catching a ferry. Only about 10-15 minutes walk to the pier.
The rooms are basic and small. Clean and comfortable. The staff was nice and, friendly and helpful. The restaurant was the highlight. Food is good and excellent service for dinner and the free breakfast buffet was great.

As others have noted this is an older building. It has some quirks such as no outlets in the bathroom-maybe a code issue. Staff was friendly and helpful. Location is convenient for restaurants, shopping and the port. Very quiet given it is close to the port and a busy street.

We had an excellent 6 nights at Lato. The property is very well maintained. Someone is always cleaning! The breakfast is delicious with MANY items from which to choose! Staff is quick and attentive. We ate a few times in the hotel restaurant. Our meals were excellent. The wine list is short but selective and reasonably priced. The wait staff were highly attentive and professional. Their thoughtfulness added to the positives of our meals.
