Hotel Reykjavík Grand

Far from Shopping but Bus Service was adequate.

Much fancier hotel than we expected for the price paid!

The upgraded room was fantastic. It did cost us a little more but oh so worth it. Huge jetted tub and heated floors in the bathroom were amazing.

A great hotel, amazing breakfast and decent bar food. Love the local beer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Just missed the spa which we used in previous years and is now closed.

Great place to be to get downtown Some places are walkable but the property has parking available which makes it easy to bring a car and get to other sites. Staff helped with a booking error (on my part) and gave good advice about sites to see.

The property is in a good area and it was easy to get downtown in a car. On site parking is a huge plus and the staff was friendly and very helpful overall.

Very nice hotel with great breakfast buffet. Bathroom was spacious with large tub & separate shower. Only complaint is pillows are too soft & have no support. All staff were very friendly & helpful when needed.

We stayed here for 3 nights and had the best time. They have a really nice lobby and bar area where you can sit. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped us figure out our activities and how we could possible go about organizing it. They also were able to accommodate an earlier check in by prioritizing our room for cleaning. This hotel is located in downtown Reykjavik and has free parking which is great. It’s also easy to be picked up for tours here as the tour companies can’t usually come to center area. It’s about a 30 minute walk from the center with most of the restaurants, shopping, and tourist stuff like the rainbow road. I think if you’re looking for something that requires you to be in the center area all the time this might feel a bit away. Parking in Reykjavik center is really tough so not easy to drive there all the time. We had booked the atrium double room. Since we are Expedia platinum members, we got upgraded to tower double room. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are pretty big. They give a lot of pillows on the bed which makes for a comfy set up. The bathroom is really nice. They have a bath tub and a shower and the floors are heated. The shower does feel small when you close the doors but you can just use the bathtub. They give a vanity kit, sewing kit, shaving kit , and dental kit. They also give these amazing robes and slipper to wear in the room. The room has a safe and fridge.

The room was upgraded to junior suit; which is bigger than it was expected. Room had good view of the ocean & city.

The hotel room when we arrived was not cleaned and had wrappers under the bed. I was staying with my family so had a pull out bed, and there was a lot of dirt under there, it was like it hasn’t been cleaned by anyone. The hotel is around 45 minutes from the airport, but it’s quite hard to walk around the hotel if you visit during the winter months.

The hotel staff are very friendly and attend to guests needs quickly. The food is excellent and the chef produced excellent evening meals. Rooms are big and the bathroom had both bath and shower so you could soak out the cold after a day out. Hotel is just outside city centre but public transport is easy to use.
