Somewhat terse staff, uninteresting surrounding area and expensive in-house dinning were some notable detractors. Overall acceptable accommodations for a night before or after a flight.

In a quiet area approximately 15 min north of the Keflavik International Airport, and about an hour's drive from Reykjavik, the Lighthouse Inn provided an excellent reprieve. The property was impeccably clean, staff were friendly and helpful and thechreakfast was fresh and plentiful.

We visited Iceland several times and had stayed at different hotels. We booked this hotel this time due to its exceptional reviews. Disappointedly, we found it to be totally overpriced and overrated, especially the breakfast which is worse than those at Super 8 motel chains in U.S ! Even those much cheaper hotels nearby had way better food selections. While we didn’t mind having to bus our utensils after eating, kitchen staff could use a little smile and friendliness！The room is dark and amenities are minimal. Although we didn’t see the northern light, the location could be good for it. I would not recommend this hotel.

Loved being near the water and lighthouse. We took morning stools and even saw whales. There is a sign up list for the Northern Lights, if they are good, staff will come you your room and get you/wake you up.

Lovely stay in a charming location near the historic lighthouse. The staff were a delight and incredibly helpful during my stay. I wish I could have spent more time during daylight hours to walk the coastline and enjoy the restaurant, though the overall accommodation was perfect for my last night in Iceland. I will definitely be back!

Property was pristine; rooms were beautiful and clean. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The breakfast lady was really kind. It’s a little drive outside of Reykjavik but definitely worth it. We will be staying again.

Outstanding little inn with a very friendly staff that knocks on your door in the middle of the night to let you know that the lights are in the sky. By no means is it palatial but it is exactly what you need if you come to Iceland to see the lights. It is located in the perfect location for just that. Bring your own TP … theirs is like sandpaper. You’ll need a car for this location too unless you’re comfortable taking a bus or calling for a cab. I’d recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Iceland.
