great hotel if shopping is your goal. i ended up with a whole new wardrobe. driver that got me from airport to hotel, and then down to pondicherry was a delightful man.

First of all the breakfast is very helpful. You can just come down and have the breakfast without stepping out and wanting to figure out where to go. So, you might want to buy the breakfast package.
The rooms are comfortable and clean. There was construction going on in the area when I was there, but nothing within the hotel.
Also, the hotel is attached to a mall, so you can just walk to the mall to get your lunch. I was working remotely so this helped me immensely. There are always autos or tuk-tuks waiting outside the hotel for travel, if you need.

1st impression. No one to greet at arrival. There was only one thin guy who addresses guest by "yeah, what u want? Bad language and attitude. Shocking. No basic manners. Then the rest is history. The ambience. The staffs carry the same attitude.
In the Room, there is No basic toiletries like dental kit and room slippers and even tissue box provided. When called housekeeping they said rudely its only provided upon request.
In the bathroom, the tap is 30cm above the sink which is plate shaped which causes water to splash on us whenever we try to wash hands. Never seen such a design in any hotels we stayed so far.
Breakfast - most importantly guests must understand that this hotel is a vegetarian hotel. There is not even egg provided during breakfast. Very limited bfast options.
I would never recommend anyone to tbis hotel.

Stayed for a day. The location and facilities are excellent....staff were very helpful. Bala went out of his way to make our trip comfortable. Amit and Solomon were very helpful and friendly. The dinner could be improved...but servers were very attentive. Will stay again.

This is the 1st time to India for both me and my wife.
Staff at E Hotel Chennai were very friendly and helpful. I would like to make a special mention of Assistant Security Officer Mr R. Arumugam. The credit on my mobile ran out while on a very important call, and it cutout. Mr Arumugam was kind enough to give me his personal mobile to make my call.
Not only that, I also made a booking for a taxi i found online and told the taxi service we're a group of 4 people plus 8 luggages for a trip from E Hotel to international airport but the taxi company wrongly sent me a small hatchback with a small boot. Even though this taxi company had no affiliation with E Hotel nor Mr Arumugam whatsoever, nevertheless Mr Arumugam still spoke to the manager of the taxi company on our behalf to fix this big mistake this independent taxi company made. As a result, finally the taxi company admitted their fault and arranged 2nd taxi at no extra charge, thanks to Mr Arumugam's help. Mr Arumugam went well above and beyond the call of duty to assist us.
Also thank you to E Hotel staff Kiran and Soiman for your assistance during our stay.
