Stayed for 2 nights.
I understand the property will be going through renovations from Jan-Mar 2025 so it hopefully addresses some of the dated elements.
Staff were really friendly. The public bath (Onsen) was nice.
The mattress the hardest in all the Japan hotels we stayed at.
The area is close to the Train station and it’s leas than 5 mins to tons of restaurants.

The Dormy Inns have been a nice hotel chain to stay. This one was nice as well.
One thing is the shower cord did not allow the head to stay in the forward postion. Other than that, nice stay.

The Dormy Inn welcomed us during the COVID crisis. The hotel was so clean, and all the staff were wonderful. The central location meant we could walk to shops and the train station.
The onsen was really lovely, and the beds were very comfortable. Use of the microwave was a lifesaver for us on a budget and trying to limit social contact.

Everything was excellent except, for the first time, the breakfast was a major disappointment.
Most of the food that should have been warm was ice cold. There were over ten omelets at room temperature. The fried potatoes were cold but the server "heated up" the potatoes and turned on the hot plate however the potatoes were still room temperature. I could make a long list of the room temperature food that should have been HOT.
The servers were not at all friendly and never greeted new guests.
The Niigata Dormy Inn breakfast and servers is totally foreign to the Dormy Inn concept.
I would again stay at the Niigata Dormy Inn but there is no way in heck I would buy their breakfast. I would got to Famima, Seven Eleven, or Lawson.

Checkin was smooth and easy, staff spoke good English and she was also able to recommend places to eat etc. While
the room was smaller than I anticipated but it was good value for the price partly due to the onsen and the free ramen for supper.
Free coffee is only served in the morning. Big plus is the free shuttle to and from the Niigata Station. The massage service on the 10th floor was also excellent and removed the tiredness of my trip

Nice onsen for the MEN & a smaller one for the ladies. Free coffee at the entrance & free ramen from 2130-2300hrs WiFi was hopelessly not connecting but after telling the reception staff about the problem he immediately gave us a router then WIFI worked perfectly within my room. Overall was a wonderful stay. Highly recommend
