I spent about three days at Kobe portopia hotel.... close to shiminhiroba Station (Kobe) approximately 100 metres and roughly 100 metres to exhibition hall...
Then, there is a shuttle bus from hotel (free) to sannomiya Kobe station... and you can take a bus near Sogo (in front of sannomiya Kobe Station) which is direct to Kansai Airport....
There are a lot of fancy restaurants inside hotel area...
I took “dine” at Shushiman and Gococu...

The hotel rooms are spacious,quiet, with very comfortable beds. The service is outstanding as well. The only draw back is there are limited restaurants on Port Island, but they run a shuttle every 20mins for free to Sannomiya station - so really not an isssue. There is a nice convience store at the hotel for drinks, snacks, prepackaged meals, and toiletries. The shuttle also takes you to Shin-Kobe, which is a huge help. They also have a designated bus stop in front of Shin-Kobe, so take advantage of that for the ride to the hotel. I will definitely stay here again in the future.

We only stayed 1 night to catch early flight from Kobe airport. While we chose the premier room so it’s a little more modern/updated, the hotel does seem a bit outdated.

Couple of policies that shocked me a bit were filling in "again" a form asking for passport number and nationality while our passports were copied and the information were right there. They asked for credit card recording even room charges has been thru' hotels.com and when I questions they didn't explain well for sure in English and there is not even mini-bar in room. Other than that their 30th floor breakast location was stunningly good and varieties were great. Generally, staffs were polite and nice. Shuttle bus arrangements between both busiest Kobe stations were great and convenient thru' out the day. However, not much to explore in the area, except IKEA ... :-)

Quite an old hotel but all other things are good. If you don't drive, it can be a distance to other places although it is directly linked to a subway station. Friendly staff and overall, I'll stay again for the competitive price it is offering..

Book a family room for three nights stay in this hotel. Overall, we are satisfied with this hotel. The room is reasonably spacious and clean. Room service makes up the room everyday. Breakfast is good with variety and can choose to dine at any one of three locations. However, the foods are the same for all three days. The parking location is at another building opposite the hotel. The link bridge between the hotel and the parking has stairs. Not friendly for luggage. There is a convenience store inside the hotel, a plus point.

It was very convenient and clean. They upgraded my room to a twin room (quiet floor), so I had a larger room to relax before my flight. The train station to Kobe airport is located next to the hotel, just a few min away! They seem to have events and buffets, so I would like to come back to stay for a few days here with my family next time.

One of the classiest / nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The facilities are top notch. It is only ten minutes from Sannomiya by the portliner. But once you’re there for the night there isn’t much to do around the area.

We were pretty excited about this hotel, given all of the amenities.
In reality, you can't use any of the amenities without paying a completely unreasonable amount of money. The hotel is showing its age - the hallways leading to our room were gross and smelled strange. The room itself had lots of issues - primarily pillows that were flat out unusable.
The restaurants on site were overpriced for what they were offering. We were excited about the possibility of bike rentals based on a sign we saw - then we realized those were 45 minutes away.
All in all, definitely would not reccomend. Was very convenient to get to the airport but that was about it.
Word of advice : charge a little bit more for the hotel and make the amenities free..then you have a hotel i would actually stay at.

Had an amazing stay at Portopia hotel. Stayed on the executive floor. Breakfast was so convenient and not crowded. Room had an amazing view and was very comfortable. Easy access to the Portliner train. Great customer service. Would definitely stay again.
