Hotel Don Miguel

Easy acces to central shopping areas within walking area, friendly staff who provided suggestions and quick access to transportation for farther areas.

The staff was incredibly friendly. Food was great, felt safe and welcomed.

The breakfast included was not your standard hotel breakfast rather a full buffet where locals came to eat, at least on Sunday. Nice staff, convenient location. Great place!

Hotel provides very nice free breakfast

Room service was excellent. Food was absolutely fantastic. No pool or fitness center. Right downtown and you could walk to an array of shops and restaurants. Beggars all over the place. We were approached more than 30 times in one hour sitting outside at a street restaurant. So after that we just ate and had cocktails in the hotel bar and restaurant. The staff was extremely attentive and the food was great with a huge variety. The only complaint I had at this hotel was that you could not charge anything to you room. You could not even leave a credit card at the front desk. The only way you could charge anything to your room was to deposit $5000.00 pesos and they would reimburse you for the difference back to your card but it would take up to 3 weeks to show up. Would I stay there again? Yes, because of the location and the food and especially the service. You do have to park about a block away in a secure covered parking lot. I think you can get closer parking if you ask for it ahead of time. However, don’t book it through Hotels.com. It is substantially cheaper if you book it directly with the hotel.

We always have the best time at Don Miguel, the staff, the property and everything is the best place to stay.

After a long trip in the mountains with no running water, this hotel was like heaven.

Their breakfast buffet was excellent - people come from all around for it. Hotel itself is a little run down; a friend who chauffered us to the hotel visited with for more than 30 minutes and our bill was charged an extra $10US. We were not alerted to this when we advised the desk that our ride was returning.

The hotel is clean but not even a three star hotel. The people that work there are nice

Hotel was clean and quiet. There was no space for us to eat the breakfast that came in the price so we just made a plate from the buffett and had to go back to our room.

I hated hated Tapachula in first place. Would have rated Don Miguel higher. Was actually pretty nice all around. But have a circle of bug bites on my side that may have been BED BUGS!!?? Never experienced them before but Bites resemble everything I have read. Did not see any bed bugs!! Just bites since back in Guatemala???
