Great hotel. Good breakfast.

The rooms were nice. Our room overlooked the fjord so the view was beautiful! The included breakfasts were delicious and they offered selections for every taste. The hotel is close to the bus station and right in the center of town. Great choice!

It has a stunning view of the harbor. Very close to all sorts of restaurants and shopping. We walked and never got tired. Was a very pleasant stay.

A bit noisey oftern in middle of night, ships and snow movers. Breakfast excellent no luxury but good quality

Rooms were small and housekeeping was available, but needed to be requested. Location for tour pickup is excellent!

The property was clean and spacious. The room (Superior Room) wasn’t huge but was a good size and it had a great view into the harbour. The location was great as it was secluded enough, but within walking distance to the rest of the city. Check-in was very easy, although there is a charge if you want to check-in before 2pm (only about £15). Breakfast was okay, but the whilst the food options were vast, I don’t think the quality was great. Unless you go really early, the breakfast is a pretty busy experience.

We enjoyed our time in Tromso. The hotel is very nice. The staff , the breakfast, the view from our room were amazing. Everything worked well for us.

The hotel could definitely use some work when it comes to certain things. For one, they should have definitely informed that their outlets are European outlets, especially if it’s the guests first time in Europe. EVERYTHING is downstairs which was new to me because even the mini bar is downstairs. Imagine your on the last floor and you need a SINGLE CUP of water…unnecessary. And to top it off they don’t even sell still water only vitamin….dinner in there BARELY exists. You have to have reservations for the restaurant and if you don’t then you have to dine outside and most restaurants you have to have a reservation. Good luck getting same day reservations. I didn’t know they offered a buffet for dinner until the second to last day…not sure why they don’t have it advertised like they do breakfast… However, the view is STUNNING and convenient for people that want to spend a little extra on rooming. The area is in the city so it’s superrr convenient to get ANYTHING. They say to schedule online to clean your room on YOUR time. That’s not true. They clean your room everyday like every other hotel and ingore your “requests” to have it cleaned on a specific day. Not sure why they have that system set up.

He property should get new carpets in the room - they are pretty old.

The room was terrific. The overbooked our level of room so we were upgraded for the first night. Only a slight hassle to move the next day but both rooms were large, comfortable and well maintained. Perhaps the best part about the stay was the breakfast buffet. It is included in the room and I have never seen so many food options at any buffet. It was all delicious. The location on the water was a big plus and we never had to venture far to get to the meeting point for our tours.

I visit Tromsø regularly but this was my first time at the Ishavshotel. Although I enjoyed my stay there'll not be a repeat. On arrival there were about 15 people waiting to check-in with just one receptionist. Check-in took around 25 minutes. The same evening I was told the restaurant was closed. So no dinner.The following evening the restaurant was open but "fully booked" with lots of empty tables and no discernable sense of urgency. Dinner was a pre-packed sandwich from the shop in reception. A novel experience at breakfast was queueing for the coffee machine, of which there was just the one. A slow one. So there was a line of around 6 people, some making 2 cups. Patience is a virtue, at the Ishavshotel it is a pre-requisite. On the plus side, the views are breathtaking, the staff are delightful, the rooms are reasonably comfortable, the showers are powerful and breakfast is OK and plentiful. The hotel is in the same price class as the 5 star Grand in Oslo. Enough said.

3stars a bit expensive.Small rooms, no phone,no room service. Great view.The bus to the airport end in this Hotel and is very convenient.

It was great

I had emailed in advance about early check in and understood it was based on availability. The rooms became available while I was sitting in the lobby. Would've been nice if someone had mentioned it to me as I was right next to them. That's my only complaint. Everything else was exceptional!
