What Guests Say About Their Stay

Our stay at Seda Lio was fantastic. The staff were consistently friendly and courteous, contributing to a very welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of options and was quite enjoyable. The beach and other amenities were excellent and well maintained. The only minor issue we encountered was slower service at the restaurant. On one occasion, we waited over 30 minutes for halo-halo and were not informed of the extended wait time until we were about to leave. Aside from this, our overall experience was very positive. Despite the pool being under renovation during our stay, we would definitely return. Special thanks to Karla (receptionist from breakfast buffet) and the front desk staff member whose name begins with “F” (I think Floren), who was exceptionally helpful and truly went above and beyond to assist us.

Overall, enjoyed my stay but didn't like that they waited till almost my trip to say pool was still under renovation when initially it was only supposed to be till October. At least, they made up for it by letting me use pool at Huni & Pangalusian. Resort is also far from city center so transpo is expensive if you want to go out.

Only 5 mins from the airport but on a large beautiful and quiet bay with golden sand backed by forest. Lio also has its own little village with around 8 or so restaurants thst you can walk to in 5 mins along the beach. The entrance and reception areas of the hotel are attractive but the room blocks less so. We were upgraded to a suite which was a very spacious room, albeit a little bland with a very big bathroom and balcony. The hairdryer wouldn' fit the sockets. Breakfast is a generous buffet although unchanging. The centre piece of the hotel is the huge pool. Unfortunately, we were advised less than 2 weeks before our stay that renovation works had not been completed on time and the pool and pool bar would be closed, hence we were given a room upgrade. We were assured however, construction would be during daytime working hours. Unfortunately this proved not be the case with very noisy work carried out from 7.30am to 10.30pm. This did distract from the enjoyment of our stay. I did complain and we were also given a free massage - it was clear staff wanted to do their best, but I think we should have been given more notice so we could have made an alternative arrangement and the hotel should not have been charging full rates when it was affected so much by these works. There are sunloungers on the beach so an alternative place to sit and relax. As well as the spa there is a small gym but half the machines not working. Lovely hotel that just needs a few improvements.

While the front desk and concierge were efficient, the general tone of the other staff seemed slow. The breakfast egg station was backed up with orders and coffee was slow to come. On the first day I had to leave before the egg and coffee orders arrived. I sent a question through this app three months ahead, and answered too late two days before arrival, with the excuse they were backed up on answering messages. At a tree lighting ceremony onsite, director of sales offered to check for another wine for me and then did not return. While it’s nice to be laid back there it should not be extending to staff.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at Seda Lio. The room was nice, but nothing spectacular for the price. However, the room was very clean and staff was excellent. The pool has been out of commission for an extended period undergoing a rebuild, but the property was very clear in advising me of this ahead of time. My only gripe about the property is the value. The place is not cheap. I have been traveling to the Philippines for 30 years and I have stayed on many of its islands. The Philippines is known for its value for the money. I liked everything about the property, but I did not feel I got my monies worth. Some customers were offered free island trips in lieu of the unavailable pool, but I was never offered this or any other compensation for the pool situation.

Place was beautiful. Staff were awesome and the breakfast was great. Location was beautiful. I would rate this place a 5 Star except for 1 thing. The Scented Air Freshener that was unnecessary at the lobby upon check-in , in an open air that was making us sick and dizzy. It was so strong that even for a few minutes my husband and I could not stand it. He almost puked in-front of the staff at the lobby. It’s not for everyone especially for people with allergies. I had to ask one of the staff to kindly turn it off so we can process our check- in and arrange our tours. Asked a few guest we met during our stay and they felt the same way! Why pollute the fresh air?

We would rate our stay 4/5, as it didn’t fully meet our expectations for a 5-star resort. We stayed in the Premier Suite (complimentary upgrade due to pool renovations). While the main pool was unavailable, the hotel was at only ~30% capacity, which made for a more peaceful experience, and they kindly offered complimentary access to the pool at Miniloc Island. That said, we did find the finishes in both the room and shared spaces to feel quite dated. This was especially noticeable in the bathrooms, where there were visible stains on the walls and floors. Check-in also felt a little impersonal — we weren’t offered welcome drinks, though we noticed other guests arriving later were. On the positive side, the staff were absolutely wonderful — warm, attentive, and truly 5/5 service. The bed was very comfortable, the AC worked perfectly, and breakfast was excellent. Overall, this may well be considered a 5-star resort in El Nido standards, but for those more accustomed to Western-style 5-star hotels, it’s good to keep expectations in check.

I chose this hotel because of its location on Lio Beach and good balance between being in quiet place but not too far from El Nido town (20 minutes and 300 pisos by Tuk Tuk). It's very close to the airport, where you will be met by someone from the hotel and then it's a very short ride in their golf buggy type shuttle to the hotel. The rooms are lovely and very spacious. We had one overlooking what should have been the pool area but that was under contstruction. I am still giving it 5 stars but we were only informed about this after we had made the booking. There is a pool at another hotel 5 minutes away but you have to reserve it and it looks quite small. The beach is stunning, with a great view of all the islands. SUP, kayak etc are all free. My only complaint here is that the life guards are the most overcautious and restrictive I have ever encountered. It was rainy season and even then, the sea was not rough and I didn't encounter any currents. However, you are told only to swim in between the hours of 6am and 6pm, very close to the hotel. I am a strong and experienced swimmer, but I don't take risks. I'd like to be able to judge myself and swim at my own risk. Aside from that minor moan, it's a lovely hotel and was very reasonable because of rainy season.

The Hotel was doing constructions in their main pool during our stay and they start early, so we was not able to sleep in as much as we can since the construction was noisy.

This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Amazing service and grounds. I wish it was longer than a 5-night stay. What a great experience! Can’t wait to come back to Seda one day
