Apex Waterloo Place Hotel

Wonderful hotel in a central location. Made our stay amazing and enjoyed the use of the pool facilities as well. Room was clean and a good size.

Had a brilliant stay here! Hotel was in a great location for Waverley station, shops and the theatre. Staff were all so lovely and approachable. Rooms were a good size, well decorated and clean. Breakfast was varied and tasteful. The spa was lush! Only minor issues were that we had booked two twin rooms and neither rooms actually had twin beds. Both had double beds made up. Not a big issue for us as it was a mother and daughter pair staying in both rooms but might not be appropriate for other people. Also the chlorine in the swimming pool was stinging our eyes so badly we could only stay in for 5 minutes. Other people there were struggling too. All in all though, I would definitely stay here again!

A fantastic hotel, staff looked after us throughout all the stay. Helped us so much with our 6 month old. Great location, would come again.

Lovely stay at the Apex in Edinburgh. We were upgraded to a superior room by the lovely Ukrainian staff member at check in. Wonderful and comfy room. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again or recommend to friends or family.

Wonderful location and beautiful facility. Loved the robes slippers lip balm. Nice breakfast paid for separately in the morning in the inside restaurant.

Great stay for visit to the Playhouse. Walking distance from Waverly station, to St James Quarter and Playhouse. Best location for what we we had planned. Floor 0 takes you to Waverly station avoiding all the traffic lights and longer walk to station. Staff lovely, rooms beautiful.

First class experience. The staff were super friendly and left us a lovely valentine gift. Room was spotless. Can’t wait to go back.

Very courteous attentive and professional staff. Free room upgrade upon arrival. Very convenient location and easy walk to Royal mile and Princess Street shops. The hotel is very well maintained and the facilities are excellent.

Everything was perfect together with a great location.

We booked a three-night stay and were assigned a room facing an alley. Due to jet lag, our first night was disturbed multiple times by street noise, including a rubbish truck at 5:45 am. We spoke with a duty manager (whose name we don't recall) who kindly offered a room change, but we were too tired to move at that point. In the same morning prior heading out, another duty manager, possibly named Irene, reiterated the offer. My husband inquired about the new room's location, explaining that a similar alley view wouldn't solve the problem. Her response, "I'm not sure of the facing and don't expect us to stop the rubbish truck," was unprofessional and disappointing. Ultimately, we declined the room change due to the inconvenience. We strongly advise against accepting a room along 919 unless you're prepared for early morning noise. Otherwise, Staffs in the restaurant and bar are friendly and nice. And hotel is approx 10-15mins walk from Waverley Bridge

This was my second visit to Edinburgh and my first stay at the Apex Waterloo and I loved it! The hotel is well situated in the center of the city and close to all the major attractions. The room was comfortable and spacious. The staff are very welcoming and sweet. The sauna, steam room and pool are terrific. And I booked a room with a tub large enough for two people and it was a lovely treat! I highly recommend Apex Waterloo for a fantastic stay!

Very smooth and pleasant visit. Hotel clean, breakfast good and generous. Nice hot sauna and lovely waterfall showers in spa. Staff were welcoming and helpful.

This was our second stay in as many months. The hotel is less than a 5 minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley which makes it very convenient for travellers arriving by train. The hotel itself is fantastic. We had a superior double both times and they are a great size. On getting to our room this time we discovered there was no bath. A quick visit to reception and our room was changed within 5 minutes. And that's the other great thing about this hotel, the staff. They are excellent and will bend over backwards to help you have an enjoyable stay.
