The public areas in the hotel are great - recently refurbished and modernised. The restaurant is good - and the children’s buffet was definitely a win. It was nice to have the pool, too. The accommodation rooms were clean but basic. They need a bit of an overhaul.

Initial room absolutely stunk of cigarette smoke. Window was open but smell was really strong. Room was unsuitable for use and should not have been allocated to anyone, before getting rid of smell. On telling reception they did allocate us a new room on a different floor.

Comfortable room, very good staff, breakfast was fine. I have deducted a star because I could not connect to the WiFi on any of my devices or the television in the room which meant I could not watch anything except live television

Tv missing majority of channels and unable to tune, room & bathroom really small especially for price. Bathroom door delaminating and large burn mark to dresser. Free car parking a bonus, but quite tight spaces. Love Edinburgh but won’t stay here again unfortunately.

Big hotel, nicely located for the zoo and buses into town. Good selection for breakfast buffet, staff helpful and the room was perfect. Even better if there was a biscuit or two with the tea making facilities. Pool loved by our daughter but gets crowded and a bit wild if you don't have kids.

We decided to stay at the hotel for dinner- big mistake the food was awful as was the service.
Breakfast wasn't good either and extremely busy! Coffee was awful.
At night someone set off the fire alarm which continues On and off for nearly at hour until 11.30pm

We recently stayed 3 nights here, over-all the stay was okay however I was disappointed with the room condition. I would say this hotel is in need of a complete refurbishment. The lobby area has been done, but the rooms are very dated and old / tired. The need updating, along with the bathrooms which was also dated and grubby. The staff were friendly but it was expensive for what it was.

We needed a place for one night before going to the airport the next morning. It was fine for that purpose. There were some loud people on our hall.

Lovely hotel and great location for the zoo. Quiet, clean and good size rooms. Bar area is nice and though small, the pool and sauna are well kept and a nice place to relax.
