Station Hotel Aberdeen

Nice to see an older hotel being given a bit of a face lift. Upgraded to executive room which was huge. Bed was a bit too firm for both of us but slept well otherwise. Room design flawed by aesthetics over practicality when it comes to mirrors at the desk which you can’t sit in front of as the mirror is off set and plug a fair distance from the bigger mirror so a bit of a faff.

Many updates were obvious . Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was almost perfect and could be made perfect with a smaller wardrobe to avoid squeezing between bed and wardrobe. Hope to stay again.

The rooms was nothing like the online picture,it was lacking usb plugs no side lights it was a very tired room need updating,but it was clean and comfortable

Very average room, room had a weird smell and basic amenities. Staff was friendly and helpful. Fine for 1 night and price of the room

The accomodation was spacious, clean a bit dated but the price was good. Breakfast was excellent.

Painting being done in the hallway next to our room. Absolutely stinking inside the room because of this. Also major works were going on in the hallway too as there were two men hacking away with saws. Mirror missing off the wall in our room and the stickers left in its place made the room look horrid. Ran the bath to have a romantic evening and the water was yellow. I told the receptionist and she said ok thanks for letting me know. No apology, no resolution. I have no idea what has gone wrong but I just paid a fortune for a superior double executive room for two for three days and it was disgusting.

This was a very last-minute decision to stay here, as due to storm Eowyn all the trains from Glasgow northwards had been cancelled, and the earlier buses that day were fully booked up. I was only able to get on the last bus to Aberdeen which got in far too late for a bus home - so just wanted a central cheap room for the night, and this flagged up for £52. The room was very basic but clean.There was only one socket, so had to unplug the television to plug in the kettle, then unplug that to charge up my phone. 2 hot chocolate sachets and shortbread biscuits were a nice welcome after a 4 hour bus journey. Bed was sufficiently comfortable, and room was warm. Extremely creaky floor though - creaked with every step, and pigeons were cooing loudly outside the window around midnight, but once earplugs were in, I never heard anything. Bathroom was spotlessly clean, and liked the traditional black & white ceramic tile appearance. Not so happy that housekeeping staff rapped on the door at 9.25 am when I was just out of the bath, and had the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door, and check-out wasn’t until 11.Reception staff were pleasant & helpful. Would I stay here again - yes, under similar circumstances if the price was right, as it was still cheaper than a taxi home.

It was a nice place, the dining area could have been warmer.

Great location, everything within walking distance , friendly staff, lovely and reasonably priced food.Rooms clean and spacious.

Perfect location for travelers or incoming international students as it is close to shopping centres and transport.

Very well situated outside of the train station and Union Square shopping centre. Clean comfortable room bathroom functional but a little dated

My room had no window. I’ve never heard of a hotel room without a window before, let alone stayed in one. The room was exceptionally clean and modern, the breakfast was outstanding, however the walls were thin and I could hear the people in the next room. It sounded like they may have smuggled in a horse or donkey and were trying to replicate the world famous Tijuana Donkey Show… who knows. Perhaps they had a window in their room and got their equine friend in through the window.

Always go back, I aware it’s ancient build. Quirky layout of the room was fun. I have to put the kettle on the floor to plug in the cracked socket. No socket next to bed for my sleep apnoea machine to plug in…. What’s long way to plug on the higher wall.

The hotel was freezing, my room was very cold all night even though the heating was on. There was no extra heating or blankets provided in the room. The curtains did not stop the lights from union square and street lighting from lighting up the room all night, and i was woken up by very load guests at 3 am, not ideal when you have to be up early for work the next day. I have stayed at this Hotel 3 times and this was the only time i had a negative experience. I have to point out it was snowing outside, but the room should have been warm. The staff are always very polite and welcoming and the food is excellent.

Stay was fine. Room was very dated, tiles in bathroom needed grouting and were dirty looking. Very delapadated.

Bit run down inside the rooms but clean and comfortable so I wasn’t really bothered. Didn’t love the fact I found out on arrival after I had parked that’s it’s £10 for the night. If I had known that I’d have picked somewhere else as it wasn’t value for money or particularly more convenient than the other hotels in the immediate area. Staff were friendly and considering its city centre it was nice and quiet.

Hotel is nice but no heating system, it was so cold that they had to bring 3 heaters in the room for me and my baby to be warm. The people are hospitable, went over and above for my family to be warm and comfy
