Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel

I enjoyed my stay and I will choose to stay at Radisson blu Gautrain hotel again.

Convinient location

This is a very typical business hotel. We stayed there for our trip to Johannesburg because it was just opposite the Gautrain Sandton Station which made access to the airport very easy. There were also many restaurants nearby.

Excellent and safe location by a Gautrain station. Easy train access to the JNB airport or Pretoria. walking distance to many restaurants or nearby mall. Good breakfast.

I booked the ‘Executive Room with Club Lounge access (high floor)’ but we were given room 604 (not a high floor) and the staff member checking us in did not inform us about any lounge access. We called from the room to check on the lounge access and the staff who answered did not seem to know anything or even want to help. She told us just to just go to the business centre (?) on the 9th floor and it felt like she just wanted to hand us off to someone else to deal with. We were tired from extensive travelling and did not want to deal with more drama so we did not escalate this then. I intentionally booked the Executive room (not a standard room) because we would be arriving in the late afternoon/evening had to leave early the next day to catch a flight, and thought to use the lounge in case we were too tired to leave the hotel. On top of this, there were no face towels, only one hand towel in the bathroom, and the hair dryer was hung up in a dusty bag, which triggered bouts of sneezing when I tried to remove it from the bag to use. The entire experience was very disappointing and I feel that I wasn’t given the room/facilities that I booked. We had to check out at about 5am because of our early flight and there was no one at reception to whom we could provide feedback. I will say that the male staff manning the ground floor entry and shuttle to Sandton City Mall, as well as the shuttle driver, were very helpful and friendly. The complimentary shuttle service was great.

This is a nice spot close to the mall but you still have to be careful.

Very clean property. Room and bed very comfortable and bathroom is clean. The problem is restaurant. They served uncooked chicken and test of the food is terrible. Not professional staff in restaurant. Front desk people are excellent. Other than that very nice hotel.

Good value, clean hotel with very friendly staff. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Dining room service was excellent however front desk service underwhelming and not appreciative of our business The request for late check out was provided which we did appreciate

First, and probably last, time staying at a Radisson. Arriving ( a little jaded) after a near 20 hour journey the first room we were given was already occupied, the second didn't have a second bed for our daughter. Staff initially tried to blame that error on us, then finally conceded to bring the extra bed. Only 1 set of towels in the room, which whilst not unclean just felt a bit grubby. On the plus side, breakfast was excellent and the staff looking after baggage & airport shuttles were very helpful & courteous.

The security like asking for money

This is a first class hotel. Staff were incredibly helpful at every turn. The rooms are cleaned to an extremely high standard. Very good breakfast. I stayed here for 8 nights and the whole stay was a pleasure.

All was well except the washrooms. The drains had an odour which was nasty

My parents loved it here, the said it was clean, close to the mall,the staff was friendly and the breakfast was great.

I think the parking issue has to be cleared. At one point I was told I need my parking ticket to be stamped then I would be let out but when I did they still have to call the reception to open up for me to which I see no point in having it stamped in the first place. Another time one of the receptionist told me I had to pay for parking and when I mentioned I had never paid before she tells me ‘those that allowed me were just lazy to mention I had to pay’ when I leave there’s no charge on my invoice so it was just confusing honestly and I found her to be rude in the way that she said it
