The hotel breakfast was delicious and varied; one of our favorites from our entire trip. The shuttle is convenient and FREE! Schedule in advance at check in! The room was spacious, clean and quiet. We enjoyed our stay

The property is a bit outdated but the staff is friendly. The hotel is close to the airport but far from the downtown area. There is a limited amount of appealing eateries in the area and most of them close between 4p-6p. There is this one charming small restaurant called La General which is open all day, though. There is also a small grocery store nearby. If you need to be close to the airport, then this is a good choice and it does offer a free shuttle service.

I had a 14 hour nighttime layover in Madrid and needed somewhere clean, comfortable, with airport transportation and breakfast option. I had to pay for the breakfast buffet separately but it had good options.

A friend and I stayed for three nights in two rooms. First, the good: 1) The staff was excellent. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. 2) The beds were very comfortable, the bedding luxurious, and the towels bright white and plush. 3) The breakfast was outstanding. 4) The location was ideal for exploring Porto. The bad: 1) Both of our rooms sometimes smelled strongly of sewer. It was not continuous. We would smell it when we first opened the door after being out for a few hours. 2) In my room, the diverter that was supposed to change the shower from overhead to hand-held did not work. 3) The hair dryer in my room would work briefly then stop, or sometimes not work at all.
