Swiss Star Zurich Airport

We arrived late at the airport and had to walk through deserted parks and wasteland to get to the hotel (although the next day we found a safer route) The apartment was hot with no air conditioning. There were patio doors but they led to weed covered balconies that could be accessed easily from other apartments. We did not feel comfortable leaving the doors open at night and in one room there was no other ventilation. The light in the bathroom had been dismantled so we had to shower using phones as torches. The light in one bedroom did not work and there were broken switches that we had to fix in order to operate the blinds. My sons woke up the next morning covered in bites. As we were getting dressed in the morning, someone used the code on the door to enter the apartment without knocking first, obviously unaware that we were still there and were staying two nights. As we were leaving for a day out the same two workers asked if they could go in to silicone the bathroom, a job that did not appear to be needed, could not be done while the tiles were wet and would have needed 24 hrs to dry, meaning we could not have used the shower for the rest of our stay. We were not happy with them having access to our room and belongings while we were out. We tried to find somewhere else to stay but there was nothing available that we could afford.The stay in this hotel tarnished our visit to Switzerland and we would not recommend it to others as it was unsafe.

No lights in bathroom. Broken switches. Noisy neighbors. Parking problem.

Check in details were incomplete and we couldn’t find our room which was in another building. Had to call to get directions. The apartment doesn’t look like the pictures- no living room. The deck has furniture that is unusable. No coffee or other supplies. Super hot in the apartment and no fans.

Yall need to know THERE IS NO AC OR FAN!!!!! We had to stay one night in late June and had a very sticky sweaty night. The only solution is opening all the windows at risk of all the bugs coming in. This property should at least have a standing fan or two for the rooms. Beds were mid, hard ro sleep because we were just so hot. There were people outside yelling all hours of the night and I generally got a hostile vibe from this place not a hotel or anything. But since we just needed one night it was walkable from the airport (30 or so minutes bc we had a 7 year old with us) and that was fine.

It should be clearly advertised that the peoperty has No AC. This ia major issue in summer

The location is great for being an Uber ride away from the airport or train station, but it was not as clean as most places I have stayed in Switzerland, especially for the price I paid. It felt very high traffic and wiped down with just water and an old rag. The linens were clean, but the other surfaces felt not so clean. Maybe they are not used to Swiss and German ideas of clean just yet.

Property was easy to access, It was clean and had all the necessities but the flat was not in good condition. Our Bathroom light did not work, messaged the property and they still haven’t even replied. Some buttons in the flat were missing cover, with wiring just exposed. For the price, don't expect a lot

Convenient location and practically a new room.

They did not communicate the full instructions on how to check in. They emailed me one code thats all. I emailed couple of times to ask the room number etc.No response . After a long day we reached there around 11.30pm and we have no idea which room or where to go. I called the hotel so many times and no One answered finally around 12:30 middle of the night one lady from the same building helped us on how to get in. There is no communication from this hotel. I will not return or recommend to anyone

We really love this place because it’s so clean! However, we noticed that there isn’t an electric kettle in the room. It would be wonderful if they could provide some tea, coffee, sugar, and a few cups for us to enjoy. Thank you!

The smell in the room and the hallway wasn't pleasant. The neighbors were noisy even after 11 p.m. The room and the toilet were somewhat dirty. Some appliances weren’t working, like the hair dryer, electric kettle, TV remote, and the bedside lamp. Luckily, it was just an overnight stay, so the place was just okay for that purpose, especially since it’s near the airport.

Honestly, I would stay here if you have an early flight or need to get to the airport. The hotel is walkable to the airport which is nice, about 15-20 minutes. The hotel itself seemed very clean but the sheets had stains and the bed was not comfortable. The room was extremely hot which resulted us opening a window and allowed all the bugs in. The building is near other residents and it is very loud and you can hear everything that was happening outside so it was not quiet, especially since the window needed to be open or the room was stuffy. It’s about a 10 minute walk from the train station so if you need to go to Zurich proper it’s convenient. Only recommend staying here if you’re on a budget or need to get to the airport fast.

Room was ok but i am disappointed with the wrong information because as per the booking pictures they shows it as the apartment like with kitchen amenities but when I arrived there was nothing. It just a room with attached bathroom. I spent too much money on food there because of misinformation. As per the booking pictures I assume you are going to provide us kitchen as well so that i can cook food there as per my choice. But that was totally opposite because of this that i went outside daily for having my food. I am not happy with this kind of service. In future i am not gonna book this apartment.

I did not check in before going, that is my bad. Staff helped a lot to check in. During this process a Drunkered was blabbering which was scary. Room was not cleaned before check in. It was quite filthy and wash basin was clogging. Requested for clean up and stepped out. Staff were good at that point. Called back to confirm it was cleaned before going back and staff were rude. My boys got grossed out stepping into the room. After cleaning it was ok and stay was peaceful, not much public transportation around

"I made a reservation, but the place was not like the pictures and had a very strange smell. I asked them to cancel, but no one responded. Two days passed without anyone contacting me. I went in, checked the place, and left immediately — I didn’t stay there."

-I emailed multiple times asking for a parking space confirmation and heard nothing back. We lost about a hour trying to resolve the issue. -There’s no staff at the property to help with any issues. -The AC was non existent so we had a very sticky night! - The man working at the restaurant at the side of the property is fantastic and very kind.

No check in person. Did via emails and codes which was wrong. Aided by some people staying there. Spoke with agent eventually was bombarded with codes (all wrong) finally got an email with me code which was correct. Avoid !

Upon sign in the system sent me to room 510. There was no direction to room 510 which required the use of one single staircase in a building with multiple staircases. I spent an hour roving the hotel looking for my room. The elevator to my floor was broken. I therefore had to haul luggage up 5 flights of stairs after an hour of much the same activity. I encountered a hotel employee in the lobby and asked for directions to my room. He provided them and when I said thanks the tone apparently did not meet his standards because he then berated me for my tone emphasizing it was not his fault the hotel was set up as it is. As a solo female traveler I felt unsafe. Upon arriving at my room and using a punch code to get in, I realized there was no way to lock the door from the inside. Anyone with a code could gain entry to my space. As a result I had to pile a table and my luggage against the door for my own personal safety. I then noticed there was blood splattered on the wall beside the bed. A disgusting display of uncleanliness and furthering my fears for my safety. The toilet in the bathroom was running consistently with no way to shut it off or make it quiet. There was a stain mark on the bed.

Our stay at Swiss Star Hotel was okay overall, but there were several disappointing aspects. The check-in process had a bit of a learning curve, but we eventually figured it out. One major frustration was the lack of a way to contact anyone for help — the number provided didn’t work on our international phones, which left us feeling pretty stuck. The room itself was clean enough, but the patio had broken glass scattered all over it, making it completely unusable. The building in general felt a bit run down and dirty, which didn’t match the expectations set by the listing. Another big letdown was the parking situation. One of the reasons I booked this hotel was because parking was listed as available, but there was none for our stay. We ended up parking at a nearby hotel, which worked out, but it wasn’t ideal. It’s an affordable option close to the airport, and for that reason, it served its purpose — but I wouldn’t recommend it to others.
