Astoria Hotel and Event Center

The last time I stayed here everything was good. This time was not as good. The toilet seat was loose and had pee on it. The bathroom faucet was loose and not secured to the countertop. There are body wash and shampoo dispensers on the wall inside the shower, but nothing inside them. Unfortunately, I was inside the shower when i realized this so i had to get out to grab soap and shampoo from the counter.

Staff was very nice but the property is in disrepair.

The one thing was the hot tub wasn’t hot. Plus the bathroom had no shower gels. But we had are own to use. Was a very nice motel. Breakfast was okay.

Had a great time. Tried the hot tub and pool. Both were great. Tasty breakfast with a variety of juices.

Decent place. Was a little annoyed the restaurant closed early. But I’d stay again.

The lobby was decorated beautifully for the holiday season, unfortunately, that is where the positives stop. Upon check-in in the afternoon, we went to our room where the toilet did not work. I went back down to the lobby and was provided another room. The new room was absolutely disgusting. The bedding was not clean. There was fluid stains and crusty "bits" of stuff on nearly every piece of the bedding and french fries on the floor. At this time, we needed to leave to go to the event that brought us to Dickinson but we requested the beds be cleaned. When we came back in the evening, the restaurant/lounge was closed. When I asked the front desk, I was told that the "lady quit last night" so there was no option for food, even though this was one of the reasons we selected this hotel. The TV in our room did not work and there was no manager on duty at this hotel over the weekend so I was unable to communicate my concerns to the appropriate person. After SEVERAL calls to the hotel since, I was finally told that there was too much time in between the check in and check to get credit back. Apparently, it was wrong to check into the hotel and then go to our event before coming back to more negative issues with the property. My mistake was giving them an opportunity to correct the negatives but I write this so you don't make the same mistake!

Room and hotel are nice and clean.

Nice place for the 1 night I stayed

Front desk staff was rather bothered to help me.

All was good except breakfast items were in limited supply. Only Raisin Bran cereal and pre packaged oatmeal, eggs but no salsa. It was adequate but not great!

I liked the cleanliness of the room and hotel. Seemed very modern and kept up.

It is easy to get to. It has an onsite restaurant that has decent food and is fairly quick. We were travelling with our pet and were in an obvious pet room as the dog sniffed around quite a bit. It does have some peeling wall paper here and there but it ultimately is a safe place to stay and provided a comfortable stay.

Dated, but clean.

I really liked the solid wood room doors, locking system and spacious room. I did not like the smell in lobby area. I believe it is the floor cleaner they use…not pleasant to my senses.

Would definitely stay again

The staff did great. We had 2 pillows brought to our room. The man at check in had at least 20 people waiting to check in and he DID Awesome calmly handling it. It took me 30 minutes to check in. Why there was not another person helping this man is a big question. There was a big wedding so the lounge was not open to get our free drink from Orbitz. Pool was closed. Our curtains were torn and not able to close all the way. Over all we had a great night sleep on the comfortable bed. Would prolly not stay here again due to it being a business/venue. To busy!

The hotel initially seemed nice but soon noticed things not so great. The parking lot and drop off were dirty, tiles broken in the elevator and the dining area closed. Our room had a very sad looking sofa, dust on the table tops and the towels were ragged. The dispensers for soap/ shampoo were empty. Breakfast was very marginal, at best. I wouldn’t stay here again.
