Austin Southpark Hotel

Older hotel but still nice. I was charged 10 bucks a night to park in a normal, non covered, mall type parking lot. I even had to put a tag on my vehicle. No security or anything to deserve a 10 dollar a night charge. Other than that, great stay.

Everything was great

Spent the weekend in Austin and found this hotel on Expedia. I was not disappointed, it was all around a great stay.

A bit run down. The restaurant was very poorly staffed. We had to wait over 30 mins for two drinks and an order of bacon. Room was nice, the sink stopper was plugged so we had to brush our teeth in the bathtub.

It was close to downtown, had everything we needed and was easy to park. Only complaint was how cold the restaurant and hallway was getting to the restaurant. It was like 50 degrees. Otherwise, everything was great.

My experience was not great. The shower ran out of hot water several times, the room was moldy and musty (with a slight smell of cigarettes) and I found an opened condom wrapper in my room when I arrived. Also the plugs didn’t work on my desk side. I wouldn’t stay again.

Shower head fell off pipe, striking my wife's foot. Flooded bathroom area. Stayed earlier in the week, stay was ok. Ice machine out of order.

Staff was generally friendly. Wanted to use the pool but it wasn’t heated like advertised and was too cold. Had breakfast at the restaurant and the 1 person working did not pay attention to our order or what we were saying and kept bringing us the wrong stuff. There was only 3 people total in the restaurant at the time. Parking lot needs work, lots of holes. The beds were not very comfortable, my back is hurting quite a bit after this stay. The pillows smelt like dog and the rooms are not very quiet. The highway noise can be heard all day and night

Would have gotten 5 stars . The place is style like the old school classy 90s luxury hotel but every thing is clean and in great condition . Also the only thing is that the pics make it seem like it’s in down town Austin it’s actually right outside down town not bad actually for traffic but you will not be able to walk downtown it’s like ten miles and only access is the high way . The other thing I did not like that there is no valet but you get charged for valet .

This property barely covers the basic, I stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and not once were my sheets changes after being asked to do so multiple times. The basic room keeping or restocking the used towels isnt being provided. LIMITED STAFF and outdated looking hotel that wants to charge an arm and a leg for the basics. Pick something else in the area and don't waste your money.

We really enjoyed the lovely hotel. Everything was clean and comfortable. I loved the pillows! We had dinner at the bar and breakfast in the restaurant. Food was great and we were impressed with the service.

I enjoyed my stay here. I am going to stay here again in the future.

I've stayed here a few times and it's solid and affordable every time. Alexis and Marisha were SO helpful as well.

2nd time here and I love it, my new favorite hotel in Austin even though it’s a little farther than I’m used to

When we come to Austin we stay here always . Such a clean atmosphere an staff is always helpful.

Could not register me or give me a room until 6 hours after I arrived because system was down. Bathroom door is falling apart. No hot water for two days.

This hotel is fine. The rooms are fine. The pool is fine. The location is fine. It's a perfect 3, truly. However- let me warn others before they make the same mistake I did. Do NOT use a third party booking agency for this hotel. They simply do not know how to handle it. I stayed here in October 2024. Was scolded at the desk for using a third party booking service, was told it was "a good thing we have a room for you", and had to prove I had already paid the fees. All of which I did. Cut to a month later and I am charged AGAIN. Another 700.00 which, I had already paid. It took another month and a half, multiple phone calls where I had to argue my case and send multiple emails proving that this money was already paid. After having to state my case multiple times and being asked by a manager "who told you you were getting a refund" I was refunded. It is now January 2025. I am A THOUSAND miles away from Austin, TX and I have JUST been charged 600.00 dollars. When I called to inquire, the staff knew nothing about it or why it happened. I now have to argue my case for a third time, 3 months after my stay. I have essentially paid this hotel over 2,000.00 for what is a tarted up motel 6. Just be wary if booking through any other 3rd party site and at least be ready to be charged willy nilly for no apparent reason.
