Best Western Golden Spike Inn & Suites

We like: bedroom is spacious, sink outside of toilet, free breakfast We don’t like: Bathroom is soooo small and light is not bright.

Staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and the indoor pool is heated which was nice with the cold nights we were there

The room was "roomy", clean, and comfortable. The staff were AMAZING! They were knowledgeable of the area and helpful in answering all our questions. Thanks for the grear stay!

everything was just fine

After checking in neither pool was suitable to swim in. The hot tub did not work the ice machines broken. The landscaping was disgusting. Weeds 2 feet tall and garbage all over. The only highlite was our room seems clean enough to sleep in. Very disappointed.

Our 5th time staying here. Have rooms with 3 queen beds for larger families. Pools are a huge hit with the kids. Breakfast also has plenty of good options. Clean and a great location. I'm sure we will be back yet again.

The toilet was extremely small in a very small bathroom like prechool/toddler size. Everything else was fine.

Door did not fit door frame and had a large gap which allowed light/noise into room. Had to place a towel at the top of the door to give us privacy and to help muffle some of the noise as other guests walked past the door/room. Room had 3 doors (interior door, exterior door, 3rd door which led to another room). Didn’t feel safe having to worry about three separate entrances being locked and secured every time I left or slept.

I was really happy about my choice! It's really a nice hotel and has a great breakfast! The staff was great!

I booked the Best Western Golden Spike an hour before check in without having read many reviews.I was looking for a property with a pool and hot breakfast in Hill City. The lobby was welcoming and the front desk staff very friendly.Our room seemed great at first but then I started noticing things. One of the chairs was broken and the other wobbly. There are no center nightstand outlets for charging devices (1 outlet has the alarm clock and the lamp) and the closest outlets require a long charging cord.The beds were firm but very clean. I was pleased with the temperature in the room and the AC/heat unit worked well (somewhat noisy).The bathroom is smaller than my tiny camper bathroom. In general, I though the bathroom was old and rusty and I was actually happy to not use the shower. The water was hot with decent water pressure (I checked after reading a bunch of reviews).We attempted to go to the pool but the outside pool was really cold.The inside pool was overchlorinated.The hot tub was murky, small and I don't think the jets worked.The pet area and outdoor seating areas looked nice. Other reviewers mention the door noises.When people are inconsiderate, they just let the door slam without regard for other guests.This is definitely a case of bad manners and not a hotel problem.I was really happy with the breakfast. The biscuits and gravy and waffles were a great start to the day.I would consider staying here again despite the pool and bathroom if the price was right. Maybe

Very convenient place to stay with all surrounding sights to see within 20 mins in all directions. Awesome breakfast. Nice little gift shops with clothing items. I would definitely stay there again.

Do you enjoy hearing exactly what's happening in every room as you walk down the hall? How about every toilet flush in the room next door? Do you enjoy chancing ripping your sleeve every time you brush against a doorframe? How about having to distract staff from their phones long enough to check you in, or help with simple requests? And doing all of this in an outdated, dingy setting? If all of this sounds like the ideal vacation, then this is the place for you! Otherwise, look elsewhere.
