Best Western Holiday Lodge

Excellent place to stay. Hotel was full but very quiet.

My stay was great, quiet and peaceful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The downside was the breakfast and coffee, very limited and no one was doing anything about the coffee on Saturday morning.

Did not feel comfortable in the annex building. Room could us some serious updates. Also did not like the fact you had to go thru an underground tunnel to the main building for breakfast.

Hotel was great. Only complaint is 5he beds were like sleeping on cardboard.

The Breakfast was very good. they had the whole menu for the week posted. Had a yogurt machine which was very nice. It is a large property. When I checked in, the clerk gave me a map and told me exactly where to go and let me keep the map. A very nice touch

Great find! Clean, convenient location, free shuttle to the Surf Ballroom, super friendly, helpful staff. My only criticism is that we were put in a separate building with no elevator, so we had to lug our cases up two flights of stairs. (Maybe a hot tub by the pool too?)

Look—when we rolled into Clear Lake, Iowa, I wasn’t expecting the Best Western to go this hard. But it did. This ain’t your dusty roadside motel full of cigarette ghosts and broken vending dreams. This place? Immaculate. Like, I’ve been in firebases cleaner than some hotels… this wasn’t one of them. This was better. Me, Brittany, and our dog Cracker (yes, that’s his real name, relax) rolled in looking like a traveling circus of chaos and sass. They didn’t flinch. They didn’t judge. They just handed over keys like they’ve seen worse—and let’s be real, they probably have. Room? Cleaner than my DD-214. Beds? Softer than my ex’s boundaries. Showers? Hotter than Brittany’s patience when Cracker did laps around the room for 45 minutes straight. Staff? Polite enough to fake laughter when Cracker barked at his reflection like it owed him money. We had a lake view and zero complaints—except the vending machine didn’t have Reese’s. I’d dock half a star but then I remember the breakfast slapped and the coffee didn’t taste like regret. Bottom line: If you're looking for a place to crash that doesn’t feel like you're in a crime documentary reenactment, Best Western Clear Lake is that spot. Pet-friendly. People-tolerant. And they didn’t call the cops when we asked if ghosts were extra. Rating: 5 outta 5 barkin’ Crackers. Would haunt again.

Very close to quaint downtown. Ate at sports bar 5 minutes from the hotel and had delicious burgers! Would definitely stay here again.

Served our purposes just fine. Our bathroom had no fan so didn’t enjoy fogged up mirrors after shower

Fridge did not work and was super dirty. Next fridge I got was super dirty. Kind of disgusting when I relied on the fridge. Staff was very nice is the only positive

great place to stay for work. The area is nice and the rooms are very comfortable. Bennigans restaurant is a great place to eat that is paired closely to the hotel.

Room was small, but clean and quiet... bed was comfortable. Had my highest sleep score in weeks! Breakfast was more than expected. Friendly check in staff.

What a find! This hotel was an exceptional value and had so many thoughtful features. Included breakfast was exceptional and served with actual glass plates and metal silverware. Our pet-friendly room was convenient for outdoor access. Staff were friendly and helpful. Conveniently located just off the interstate for overnight stops like ours. When we are in this area again we will definitely stay here.

Booked a last minute stay around 10:30 pm same night while traveling, showed up 10 minutes later and was graciously welcomed, as well as having a surprisingly nice room. Would stay again.

The property was clean but needs some updates and fixing.

Clean rooms. Convenient location. Disappointed restaurant wasnt open later on Friday night.
